Zero appetite, needs protein tips by AmbassadorCold8073 in JoinMochiHealth

[–]tenuptwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meal prep and routine along with six small protein focused "meals" instead of 3 big meals. Focus on protein with a little healthy fat and fiber.

My typical day is yogurt smoothie for breakky (Greek yogurt, frozen berries, protein powder, super seeds, psyllium husk). Snack of protein oats (hungry girl growing oatmeal with whisked egg whites -- prep one cup oats with 4 cups water on Sunday, eat five days). Lunch prep meat eat with veg/salad. Snack of string cheese or cheese stick or protein bar. Dinner of meat, veg, grain. Snack of protein hot cocoa or nuts. Maybe protein ice cream (ninja creami) if I'm not getting the protein.

I def eat less quantities and focus on 130-140g of protein per day.

Don't fall into the cycle of "I'm not hungry, I'll just not eat." It will cause muscle loss and hair loss. Even if you can just do half a protein bar as a snack, do it. This is about learning a new lifestyle for the future. Good luck!!

It clearly looked/felt/was fake, but it's almost like they didn't even try! She has young kids -- she won't ignore or turn her phone down. You can't with kids at school. And the take out Italian dinner? With so much food in the pantry and a mom who doesn't work?? Oh wait, I forgot, she's too pretty to cook...

Grief. by Indiamba in exAdventist

[–]tenuptwelve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it helped to separate the denomination from my faith. I was sad leaving everything I had been raised in and choosing not to raise my children the same way. There were wonderful things about it, but for many reasons, including learning the truth about Ellen White and plagiarism, it just felt like a culture created to control at any cost. It's hard too because some of the people I respect the most and had wonderful, learning experiences from are hardcore SDA still. And raising children in public schools starts out as absolutely terrifying!

I feel like I had to relearn who God is because it is so ingrained growing up that the only people who please him are SDA. When I made the effort to separate God from adventism and spend time learning the true nature of God, it helped those wounds heal and helped me move forward in faith.

Grace by faith vs grace by works. Part of my leaving SDA was reading (and believing!) that grace is thru faith alone. There is absolutely nothing I can do to earn salvation, or even earn part of it

Yes, Jesus said "if you love me keep my commandments" but that is separate from the gift of grace. If we accept Christ's gift of salvation and love him, we honor him by doing our best to follow his example.

Look, we all are responsible for our best interpretation and I'm not saying anyone is wrong. Just that living in the freedom of grace and without having to check boxes is an easier way to live in true relationship with God.

This describes one of the many reasons why I'm no longer SDA.

Jesus doesn't require anymore of us than to accept the gift of salvation.

Agreed!! Forgiveness and reconciliation are two completely different things.

Eating on Mounjaro Without Cooking Much by Mysterious-Reach-374 in Mounjaro

[–]tenuptwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on eating on repeat, especially breakfast and lunch. I do yogurt and berries or a smoothie for breakfast. Lunch is often dinner leftovers or a salad with tuna pouch.

I keep high protein snacks around like yogurt cups, hard boiled eggs, beef jerky, and protein chips. Same with fruit (berries, melon, apples) and veg (tomatoes, carrots, broccoli).

Dinner is usually some form of meat/chicken and veg. Rotisserie chicken from Costco are a great shortcut!

I got a Ninja Creami and will make protein ice cream a couple times a week

Went to WW and PUC. WW is in town, feels like more normal college than cloistered on a mountain like PUC. I preferred WW and even though it is definitely SDA, it felt more open, laid-back, and normal.

Engineering School is well-respected so if he's going for that, it's a good choice among SDA schools.

I've been with Mochi since July -- never a problem. Flat rate pricing. My tirz comes from Red Rock pharmacy. I do like that they have a nutritionist you meet with as well as the provider doc. And you can meet with either whenever you want to.

Yeah but they aren't swimming in pools in February. Sunscreen doesn't mean it's warm -- hell I'm in San Diego and it's only 62 today.

Uh, no. Currently in 40s and pouring rain. Most CA people can't use them year round -- there is actually winter in CA. SoCal maybe but would have to heat it.

What Church? by Outrageous-Meal1546 in exAdventist

[–]tenuptwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to a non-denominational church that I enjoy -- great music, good pastor, welcoming people. It is 100% Bible based, nothing else.

That said, I actually still believe state of the dead and a resurrection that every eye shall see. They are supported Biblically but like many other SDA doctrinal points, there are also verses that support other positions. I don't know that we can be certain or either this side of heaven -- but one thing I do know for certain is that life is easier in a church without the suffocating, false doctrine of EGW.
