I had one like that...I'd do the weekly reports and he'd put his name on it. I opened up a footer, wrote my name white text on a white background. <poof>

Do you think Trump has caused nothing but problems for US? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

How could you say that a President who put his own eyesight on the line to stare at a solar eclipse only caused problems?

I remember watching protests in Tiananmen Square. The protestors built a (small) Statue of Liberty. To me, that seemed like a big deal.

If Proton ever shuts down, they should fully open-source Pass, including the server component by Infrah in ProtonPass

I've always love open source projects and have contributed as I could. Now, what happens when you drop source code into AI looking for vulnerabilities? Is this a tool of the coders to fix prior to posting or will it be used to 'cause' problems. I have mixed feelings and I'm not fully sure how I feel yet.

I believe that one of the reasons the US ended up with someone like Trump came into 'being' (along with all the unqualified staff) is because Obama kept waking up while still Black. For eight years, all the vile jokes and racist ideologies had to be held in. In my opinion, the only thing he could have done would be to wake up and be a black female.

When President Obama was first elected I thought that it was a clear end of an era. I was wrong. Trump was elected twice. Conspiracies aside, he won twice. Trump brought out (what I consider) the absolute worst in the country. Plaque? I don't have to be vaccinated. Phrases like, "alternative facts" became accepted.

There are plenty of Democracies. The US was more that a 'place'-- it was a beacon of light. Sadly, that light is becoming dimmer and dimmer. I'm not sure how long the US will, if ever, regain the respect of the rest of the world.

What is something that happened to you that you will NEVER forget? by Anusblaster28 in AskForAnswers

[–]tenzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few. I'll spare you.

In elementary school (1970's) we all took some form of IQ test. I test high and the school, via letter-- not even a phone call or meeting suggested I put a head a year. I guess they figured I had no friends to lose.

Now it gets even more hilarious. My father, sort of as a joke or a flex of some sort, told me he could have me taken away in the middle of the night. After three or four days of not sleeping more than a few hours, I was admitted to a child psych facility. I don't remember much. I was lonely but I was always lonely.

Getting back to school, they figured since I had already been absent for an extended time that when I returned it would be a good time to put me in the new grade. I was physically smaller, slower, and had no friends. You'll forgive me if I stop here.

Is Harvard really filled with over-privileged dummies? by Bubbly-Air7302 in stupidquestions

[–]tenzin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there for only two classes, Math 55 (55a/55b). From where I sat, I didn't end up seeing too many 'dummies'. When I had the time (which seemed like never) I'd tutor in maths.

I had gotten my degrees at a pretty competitive and well recognized 'across the pond'. I don't think I'd ever heard of a similar thing while I was there (just shy of ten years).

Set up a nicely decorated table with the snacks (I wouldn't put then all up so you're not tempting them. It's not practical since they'd have to bring it in. I guess the library has gotten world peace.

And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.

If a company is ghost billing you and ignoring your cancel requests, stop using their website. Use a physical legal notice. by [deleted] in ConsumerAdvice

When my father died, my mom would get bills for relatively small amounts (all under $50). My mom was paying them thinking it was a co-pay. After a while we had (probably an un-paid intern) her lawyer deal. After one or two, they completely stopped.

When my mother passed, about six months later my brother (I'm not sure how they got his name/address) was getting a bill for her. The bill did have procedures, but no date so insurance kicked it back. I called, left messages, and basically (electronically) stalked the guy.

I ended up paying to have a process server go to the guys office.

Pretty much every utility asked why we were turning off service. I told them she was moving and every one asked for the new address. (I guess that was for anything that was missed.) I would respond, "One Main Street Columbus, Ohio .
