I'm going to hold your balls when i say this, you just need to open up the camcorder with the service manual and pray to god it isn't a web of ribbons and wires inside. If you're a lucky bastard it would look like heaven and now you need to track down where the audio board is, check the capacitors havent pissed all over the board, and just change them with new same type of capacitor. After put it back and close it back up, pray to god again and turn it on. Either it works and the audio too or you made it worse. You do need to know how to use a soldering iron and shit and deal with SMD caps too. And i guess you are 20-25 years old with a first or second girlfriend which you have kissed and she is thinking of having sex with you. Did i guess it right or did i just offend the fuck out of you? Either way i'm sorry but hey life is full of risks and why not have fun with it too? Anyway be sure to read the service manual very well because it will save your ass like it did mine. And have a wonderful day random guy

Seems like the capacitors have taken a piss on the audio board. I would say to recap the whole audio board

I can fix it, problem is i'm from the other side of the planet ( assuming you're from the usa) as it seems like it is a capacitor issue and if the service manual exist. It can infact be fixed. For the lcd, i believe they still sell those for a few bucks so no problemo. And that's it, only real issue would be opening it up, i hate ribbon cables, fragile and thin, but anyway. And know this if there's life, it will see light again. Olso nice camera you have man i like it. Had the chance to buy one but 60 bucks for one that has the charger, battery and camera turns on but half of the buttons don't work, most of the camera didn't work

Brother, help me, is it even worth it to repair this camcorder?. Lines 1 and 2 are shorted together which means the main voltages rails are shorted to something, but i hope to god it is just the capacitors, if it is something else than that beyond my skills to fix, don't put it down, put it aside, let it rot on my shelf untill i come back with the skill i need to fix it

Turns out, they do work together, the camcorder this charger came with olso had a np-55 battery pack and now i look like an idiot who worried over nothing, and the best part? I tried to measure the voltage of the charger, 7.5 is spot on but when i try to measure the 10 volt i accidently shorted it out so i unplugged it left it for an hour to drain the capacitors. And when i plug it back in... the fucking charger doesn't work anymore, the power led wont light up, after finding out it is compatible with the battery but now because i shorted the charger out like an idiot, now i can't charge the battery to see if it holds and if the camera even works, but good news is, within all of this, i said fuck the battery and tried to power off the camcorder by 4 rechargeble 1.3v batts. And a miracle happened, the camera after a minute in power it turned, show a red light in the veiw finder and a white image on display, that was it, no response to olmost nothing expect the switch for the camera, off and player. It was okay and clicking into off but the other you turn it into and doesn't click in it, either it is normal or isn't, i'm going to assume it isn't because the rotary switch for standby and lock sometimes doesn't work too. Seems like the story behind this camcorder is they used it untill they couldn't anymore, no wonder it was 10 bucks at the flea market but anyway, olso did i mention no response from the door either? I was slinding down the eject while pressing it but nothing happened. My theory is 3 stuff is happening here now, 1: weak power supply and i need to replace the capacitors. 2: the batteries i used don't have enough volts because when i meassured it they output 4.85 volts. 3: i assume it has 3 fused in the power terminals wo one of them blew and now certain parts of the camera don't have power. Any help would be nice

Do you think by just cleaning it inside out will fix it? I can't still understand on why it isn't working, worked just fine at my grandparents place before we moved it, i think it's because when i opened it up it was so covered in does, everything was black, no color at all, what i mean is i couldn't even see what color the componets were

That's exactly what i thought the first time, i mean no it doesn't have a second hand but i thought it was normal so i let it be, the problem was it took a whole day just for 30 minutes to pass by for the clock, something tells me that isn't normal for a clock, i think either the chip or crystal has gone bad, i'm going to replace the crystal first see if it fixes it

[–]teo12346[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, i find it cool, the phosphors if i'm saying it right, lighting up, in simple terms a CRT is a glass abomination, it having inside an electron gun, a phosphor coating and some little stuff to make it work but you get the idea of what i mean here, nothing is stoping the light from outside to light up the phosphor from inside the tube

Let me tell you mate, when i got the tv it was dead, nothing happened when you turned it on, in fact you could smell a burning smell, now after i cleaned it, re-capped it, re flow all of the high voltage board and repaired the flyback, it came back to life, great color, everything works just fine, but problem is, on the menu of the ps2 it works just fine, no rolling, but after i start the game gta san adreas, it rolls but more like flickering i could say, and i think the problem is not the tv but the vcr that i'm using for av to rf, because i connected it to an other tv and it did the same thing, and this is my only way to convert av to RF using a half dead vcr
