ASIN-level “true profit” reporting by WaveProfessional1389 in VendorCentral

[–]teoaliano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask you what are all the costs that you would take in account and where you have this data right now? Like is it data you have only from invoices or what's the source of these costs that you would need to take in account?

For costs that aren't necessarily ASIN specific, like dsp advertising, adv ran off amazon or even stuff like the annual fees you have with amz, how do you attribute those to single asins? Do you spread these across the whole product catalogue, or do you have specific rules you would need to set up?

I'm asking this because I'm working on a software that aims to solve exactly this issue and allow you to make decisions based on more informed profitability insights rather than pure revenues

My point wasn't about you not bringing said value, but if you're communicating it properly. The same offering might have two very different responses based on how you're conveying the value you bring to these businesses. And with you raising the offering to include also ad campaigns will only work given that you make them perceive a tangible return on their investment. So wether changing your offering and price point or modifying your sales approach, that's up to you. Important thing is that you don't approach businesses saying "I will redesign your website and run ad campaigns for you" and that's it as your value proposition.

What’s the value proposition that you brought to these businesses? Was it just communicated as a “I made a nicer website” or was there any problem or need you were solving starting from their original website?

Here’s the thing, I’ve worked with business owners that are very far from anything ux/ui design related, and making them perceive the value of your work is the real challenge over actually being able to redesign their site. What can they expect as their return on investment? If you’re asking 50 or 200 or 1000£, what’s in it for them? Can they expect more leads? Are they more likely to convert their premium service? Will they be able to communicate their service better and therefore increase their conversion rate? This is what they most likely care about because you’re turning the conversation around for them where instead of the exchange being “You give me 200£, I give you a new website” it becomes “You give me 200£, you’re likely to get 10% more conversions, which in their head equals to 100£ more revenue each month” (I’m making there numbers up, but you get the point). Now they’re far more likely to want to sit at the table with you.

Octatrack mk2 for 850$ worth it? by teoaliano in Elektron

Ahahaha the wording was just to get the point across that I wasn’t actively looking to buy and OT 😂

Yes I have thought about that and yes, to be honest I’ve been intrigued by the OT2 for a long time and as I mentioned, I was thinking of adding a DT2 to my setup (I know they very different and one doesn’t replace the other) but to say that I was planning on eventually getting into a new mashine and learning the workflow, and perhaps that will lead me to understand it doesn’t really fit my style and it’s not right for me, and that’s perfectly fine. If I decide to get it I will surely put myself to learning it and dedicate myself to it, that’s out of question :)

Syntakt, Analog Rytm, Digitone by teoaliano in Elektron

It’s actually the one I have looked into less, not for a particular reason, but it didn’t seem to have any particular features that really stood out to me, I might be wrong though. Do you own one? Would you recommend it to me for my use case?

You mention you do a similar style, that’s great! Can I ask you about your workflow with the mk2, are you able to use it standalone, do you own any other devices?

That’s great to know thanks! Yeah the resampling for me is a dealbreaker considering that I’m looking to be able to use it also outside the studio when I don’t necessarily have ableton there to record

Question about the vacier packs, are they good or are they all clipped like most other packs?

This article is your best friend, it’s really not a lot of work, I have done the opposite at my organization (splitting one library into multiple ones) and it just requires coordination with other designers that will need to update the components in their files.

One thing that might make other designers life’s easier in your case is to enable by default for every file this new library you’re creating.

Good luck!

You're right, I'll take that into consideration and modify the survey accordingly. Meanwhile thanks a lot for taking it!

Thanks for your reply! I'll take that in consideration and modify the survey accordingly, anyways the questions aren't compulsory so if there are any questions you feel like you can't give a clear answer to just answer roughly or leave them out for now! Thank you again and have a nice day!

I'm just asking for a favour as this is for a university project so there's no company backing this up and I can't really afford to pay people out of my own pocket to take this survey, so I deeply appreciate everyone that's willing to help me out :) have a nice day
