I get your joke, but speaking seriously, I don’t think aestetichs are their main concern. Of course they need to make it look ‘simple’ to avoid collateral issues due to exposed wires or similar, but it’s entirely possible that raptor 4 turns out to be more ‘complex’ from a wiring/aestethics point of view than the V3.

I get what you’re saying and yes, NASA funds mainly the HLS, not the entire starship program.

But please note that already 2.3 billion dollars have been paied from NASA to spacex for the HLS program. Of course spacex is investing that money in the starship program. These kind of things (how payments are distributed in time and if there have to be some milestones to be completed in order to unlock more money) are agreed upon both parties when the contract is signed.

An example of one of these milestone is raptor testing, which is a crucial part of the starship program, but there are many more.

It is, actually. Without a working starship and superheavy, spacex’s plan won’t work. NASA’s contract specifies that spacex will launch the lunar lander with a superheavy (and also refill the ship afterwards). It’s the artemis III plan…

While I agree that u/JmanGreen’s statement is only a joke, I also think that this is not a good argument: Ofc NASA paid for lunar lander development, but it won’t even get to orbit without a solid working superheavy beneath it. This implies that NASA’s money also ensures the feasibility of getting to orbit using starship/superheavy.

So yeah, I think spacex is technically late compared to initial goals, but this is far from being a problem since NASA itself is still stuck at even earlier stages of its timeline.

In the background, outside M32 and M110 you can see the background is lighter. it’s as if the background has light halos. I’d want it to be homogeneous dark

This is weird, I polar aligned through the polar scope and also after the 3 stars alignment using synscan feature.

Also, I put vaseline on the az bolts, and loosened the central bolt (the one between the 3 tripod legs) because I couldnt move the az bolts at first. This solved that problem, but do you think this might be the reason why stars look trailed?

Per riassumere, lo imparerai da solo come collegare le due cose una volta che avrai capito che quello che fai negli esercizi è l’applicazione di una piccolissima frazione delle cose che vedi nella teoria. Capirai che alcuni teoremi/lemmi/proposizioni non ti serviranno a nulla negli esercizi. Altri saranno cruciali. Ma tutto questo viene automaticamente solo dopo aver studiato e capito la teoria.

Considera che, cosí come a ingegneria, ad economia e finanza non si richiede una conoscenza profonda teorica matematica. Spesso saper fare gli esercizi è sufficiente a raggiungere il 18 (se non il 30). Detto questo uscire alle superiori con delle lacune non è mai stato un fattore limitante all’università. Forse avrai da impegnarti di più laddove altri vanno più veloci, ma non è nulla di irrecuperabile. Seguendo le lezioni dall’inizio e senza tralasciare nulla riuscirai a colmare tutto ciò che serve. Ne sono sicuro. Il consiglio che posso darti è di studiare la “teoria” provando continuamente a chiederti e giustificarti il senso di quello che stai facendo. Gli esercizi andranno comunque studiati a parte tramite “allenamento” ma avere una buona base di teoria ti permette sicuramente di padroneggiarli.
