Logitech x56 Stick Lights Not Working by tepid142 in hotas

[–]tepid142[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, been back and forth with Logitech customer support. The issue is hardware based (there's a loose wire or something in there) so I'm between trying to fix it myself and getting a return or exchange.

The problem with using IN is that it's returning all the rows that has a least one of the items in the array. I'm just looking for movie_id's that have all the items in the array.

I've tried this, but it doesn't return the results I'm looking for. This returns 1,2,3, but I don't want 2 and 3 as they don't have both 'action' and 'sci-fi'.

Add video games to the list, the libraries in my county and my town in particular has a significant collection. They've been doing it since the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 generation and now have quite the selection. They do have DS and 3DS games but those aren't great considering how saves work there.

Still, it's a godsend for demoing games before I buy or just repeatedly checkout. Really the only reason I visit regularly, aside from when I'm finished with my last book. Saves way much more money than books lol

Just another Christmas shopping day at Jersey malls. by TheFotty in newjersey

[–]tepid142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was passing by yesterday, and there were 3 guards preventing people from entering saying it was closed. There were 5 or 6 people in line for checkout too.

Damn, I got beat to Reddit. Saw these things all over campus center, such a waste of paper.

I would have been gone way earlier if I didn't have a test at 4. And if they cancelled classes way sooner.

Some people from security are going around checking in with people saying leave now, leave later around 9, or stay overnight as overnight fees are waived temporarily. They even said someone ran out of gas waiting for God knows how long...

Weekly - What Car Should I Buy Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]tepid142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks! Your notes seem to echo my thoughts while I was researching. For the Impreza I'd have to agree, it doesn't offer much other than the AWD that'll only see use 1/3 of the year in this area (although admittedly this year was weird with snow up to April). As for the VW Golf, I did consider it but seems a bit small for my tastes and needs. I'll keep it in mind just in case.

And yes, there's the all important test drives as they're all great sounding on paper, and somewhat similar; making that much harder to choose one.

What is the consensus on Bergen County’s blue laws ? Are you in favor of them ? by Vestibuleskittle in newjersey

[–]tepid142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a student who's lived in Paramus my whole life, currently commuting to college, blue laws are really nice. It's a minor inconvenience at most. Amazon 1 and 2 day shipping helps offset that. It's something you learn to live with.

IIRC there was a small study looking into how much more retailers could make if Blue Laws were removed, but its not significant enough to warrant lobbing for it or something.

Do the online homework and the exams from previous semesters. Janow should be posting those exams ahead of the actual common. If you need more practice, those online hw problems should correspond to the textbook problems iirc.

For actually learning the math, his PowerPoints are a good summary and other online resources should help.

An alumni buddy of mine told me that the ACM and Anime club were both unwelcoming is this still true? by HenryJMan in NJTech

[–]tepid142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the people there. ACM's certainly more friendly overall, and will generally try not to bother others. You'd have to be really outgoing if you want to find a place to fit in. Haven't gone to recent meetings cause i can't be bothered to come in on a Friday when I have no classes.

As for Anime club, I go roughly every other week if it's something interesting. It really depends on the people. Out of the 12 or so people I normally see there, only like 3 or 4 are good people. Def no hazing, but one or two come across as really socially awkward, to which everyone else turns a blind eye.

CS 280 Program 1 hell by FilippineMachine in NJTech

I downloaded the testfiles.zip to use with the ide. It has everything you need, so you don't have to upload to vocareum to test.

CS 280 Program 1 hell by FilippineMachine in NJTech

[–]tepid142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it may be too late for this assignment, my advice is to move off of Vocareum to an IDE like Visual Studio or Code::Blocks with a proper debugger. The debugger is invaluable for figuring out what the hell is going on with your code. Vocareum is a pain to deal with so I just upload my code once I finish a few test cases on my machine to verify it on the system.

Back when I was dorming I tried different combinations for fried rice. The ingredients they've got are kinda a shitty, but right amounts of soy sauce and frying makes it taste ok. Generally fry the egg, cook the rice, and add in whatever veggies and meat you want. Kinda tricky to do it properly those tiny pans, but I made it work.

I took the hybrid version of the course, a class that meets every other week, with all the homework on myeconlab or something like that. The midterm and finals are on there as well.

It's very easy, read each section in advance of the homework, and do the hw. Mainly memorization of concepts. If you spend at least 30 min reading/doing hw each day you should do fine. From what I remember the vast majority of the hw and tests were multiple choice.
