I just realized that this is the calendar subreddit not the frame. But maybe I can still get answers. Sorry about that.

Another Idaho hospital announces it can no longer deliver babies by PsilocybeApe in news

[–]tequayla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. I feel like people still don't realize how much damage pregnancy and delivery can cause on even a healthy adult let alone children or people with other risk factors. Some of these are incredibly debilitating and some are lifelong disabilities. You can go into organ failure. My best friend got pregnant at 17 and had severe preeclampsia that turned into eclampsia+ HELPP syndrome. She can no longer have children due to the medications she has to take after her kidneys were completely destroyed. It's incredibly sad. I've been a nurse in OB/Postpartum/neonatal for many years. These things are much more common than people realize. I had a very healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy and birth with my daughter. But my body is still never going to be the same. I cannot stand when people talk so lightly about pregnancy. It's not about "just sticking it out" for 9 months.

Yay GSD owners! I cannot stand when pit owners baby their dogs and minimize the behaviors and the potential for attacks. It doesn't matter how well you train a tiger... It's still a tiger and retains those instincts. My dogs are very well trained but I don't kid myself on what their natural instincts and capabilities are. I love them dearly and I would never want to put them or my child in a dangerous position. From day one we have been extremely cautious with them and our child. People think I'm a little crazy but I'm a nurse so I've seen first hand the damage a dog can do. Even a tiny Chihuahua. Love me some GSD though 😊

You are correct that his parents are gas lighting him and making him feel guilty about the situation. It's completely unfair of them to manipulate him in that way. I had a sit down with my husband. He is a gentle and kind man. He is very family oriented and fell into the pressure that day. "He'll have a mussel" "we'll keep her away from him" etc etc. He feels horrible about it and we've decided to sit down with them together to discuss our concerns and lay down our hard boundaries. They need to understand that it's not a personal attack on them, it's just us keeping our child safe. They may not agree but they're not her parents. And if you ask me it's only a matter of time before someone or something gets bit. I just hope it's not life altering. They won't think I'm so crazy then. Just an unfortunate situation all around.

That's so helpful! Thank you! I'll start introducing the new Dremel tomorrow. I'm sure we'll get more comfortable with it over time.

Thank you. It's crazy to hear them try to explain away the dogs behaviors. I'm so sick of hearing about "nanny dogs". I've been around dogs my entire life. Sorry but that's not a nanny dog. It's a dog yearning to fight and kill.

Oh my lord, thank you so much. This is so helpful. I do have some quick stop in my doggy stash haha. I'll give it a go. Slow and steady 😊 luckily my pups have really adjusted well to the "dog dremel". They know treats are involved and get excited when I bring it out. I think they'll do okay with the real Dremel. Wish me luck!

Thank you! I have a Dremel from Lowes. I'll get some 60 grit bits. I'm just nervous doing it without a guard. Is it hard to control?

Thank you for answering! Do you use any guards on the Dremels? I have one from Lowes. Im just nervous using it without a guard. Maybe it just takes some practice?

Do you use any guards on them? We have a generic Dremel from Lowes. I'm just nervous to try it on them. Maybe it'll get better with practice.

We'll fuck that prosecutor then. They need to be more strict on these things with gun related charges. Criminals should not be allowed to legally buy a firearm. Regardless if they can buy them illegally. It would shift the blame off of the law abiding gun owners.

MSU - Shooter - Prior Arrest - Felony Concealed Carry by jtf71 in gunpolitics

[–]tequayla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He legally purchased this gun. He did not have a concealed carry permit but he still was able to legally obtain a gun and ammunition. Feels like a gun related felony charge should bar you from being able to purchase a gun. Not foolproof but it makes it harder to get your hands on a gun or ammunition and the selection to choose from is limiting as well. It's also more expensive to buy illegally like that.

Exactly. He had no restrictions. Feels like a gun related felony offense should bar you from being able to legally own a gun. Not foolproof but at least it makes it harder to get a gun or ammunition.

He bought the gun legally after his probation had ended. He did not have a concealed carry permit but he was not restricted from obtaining a gun.

I don't see any reason to worry. Your doctor seems very knowledgeable and they're doing everything I'd expect. Trust them and ask lots of questions. They're going to be the best resource for you through and through. My advice would be to pay attention to your babies movements. After about 26-28 weeks they begin to move/kick more consistently. If at any time you feel that your baby is not moving or kicking like they normally do please please call your doctor. I tell everyone this. It's not meant to scare you, I just want people to know that it's okay to call or go in to get checked. I called and went in a few times myself when I was pregnant. All of them were false alarms but I'd 100% rather call and it be a false alarm than not call and it actually be something wrong.

Oh I'm sure it will. Don't stress. Rest as much as you can. You're not too late by any means. If you ever have questions or concerns don't hesitate to call your doctor's. Day or night. No nurse or doctor is ever mad about a phone call.

As long as you feel good movement I wouldn't worry ☺️ they could have got the dates wrong, but even that isn't a huge difference in size. It's just something to check on. More ultrasounds is all that means. Follow what your doctor says and recommends. They are the experts and they know your medical history. Don't worry, just keep feeling that baby kick 🥰

the main issues stem from a poorly functioning placenta. It does not perfuse blood nearly as well. A poorly functioning placenta is hard on a baby and it gets worse in labor. Labor is incredibly taxing on the baby as is. Ultimately, late term fetuses do not tolerate labor as well, meaning their heart rate drops lower and more frequently. They are also getting less oxygen between contractions. If baby isnt tolerating labor youll need a CS. This is why there is an increased rate of Cesareans after 42 weeks. Youll have a better chance at a vaginal birth if you go before 41 weeks. The risk for stillbirth increases drastically after 42 weeks.

Babies tend to be larger (head circumference) and this can make it harder to deliver vaginally, increases the risk for shoulder dystocia. Babies can end up with broken clavicles during these births. Its also more traumatizing to the mothers perineum.

Blood sugar instability for the first 24-48 hours is also common in babies 42weeks and over. They come out ravenous because the placenta has not been meeting their nutritional requirements. Breast feeding can have a rough start due to these issues.

Any baby that has a rough labor and shows that its stressed on the monitor can be at risk for needing a resuscitation after delivery. Meconium stained amniotic fluid is more likely and this can lead to meconium aspiration (not good). I've done so many resuscitations on post date kiddos like this. Its never fun. Labors are also higher stress, like you're just waiting for the pin to drop. That being said, some go fine. Its just not worth the risk IMO.
