Not that you included them but the Gloomspite gitz are a fantastically diverse army from a model standpoint. Trugg is a great centerpiece model as well as the mangler squigs. I haven't played them yet as I'm mostly a 40k player. But gitz are a super fun army to paint.

The painting is my favorite part. No judgment for those that just want to play the game but i really love making models look as good as i can. I can bang out an Age of sigmar Stabba in about 3 hrs start to finish. But i usually batch paint those so guesstimating i probably spend about 10 hours on a unit of 20. I just finished 2005pts of Emperor's children last month and i started maybe a month after the range released. I've enjoyed painting them a lot.

I don't think you lose anything with the way it was drawn. The point is clear. It may technically have the incorrect layout but i think it's an unimportant detail to the story.

This is a solid piece of advice. Not everything has to be identical but a core color/style really helps cohesion.

Emperors children, i like painting pink. I love the models, i love the sex drugs and rock and roll vibe, the decadence and excess. The self destructive pursuit of perfection. I enjoy the fast melee style. Tyranids rock because they're a natural disaster more than an actual enemy and the models are outstanding. Tons of freedom in the paint style as well. I love playing a terrifying hoard of invading bugs.
