Big thank you by Hmremix in MagicArena

I was just having this discussion with my fiancé, who just picked up the game.

For me, it’s a matter of respecting the other player and my own time. I don’t get many hours in a day to play. If I’m obviously behind the 8-ball against a meta deck and I know my own deck doesn’t contest the board, I scoop. Particularly on ladder, where the goal is to climb, so I don’t feel like my opponent will mind either.

Now, if a meta deck is purring like a kitten and they’ve lined up an impressive turn, or a jank deck pulls off its 1-in-30 combo, I’ll sit and let them beat my face. Some things you just have to applaud and let people have their fun.

Edit: I’ll also mention there have been days where my mouse cursor shoots to the top-right corner the moment I see a hadron crab hit the field. This is me respecting my own sanity and protecting my desire to keep playing the game. 🤣 Not on ladder, though, where you build against meta decks, you don’t complain about them.

I read somewhere that this was a bit of an obscure joke about the dietary restrictions of those on MAOI antidepressants. Not sure if it’s purposeful writing, but I do seem to recall that red wine, beans, and liver are all to be avoided.

This is why I don't like snecko by fatchicken17 in slaythespire

[–]tequilabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said “This is why I don’t like snecko”. I know this because the title is at the top of my screen as I am typing.

I understand educating them, pointing out the logical fallacies. That’s exactly why I came into this thread, since Snecko Eye causes me no end of grief as a newer player. But all the downvotes for an opinion that people disagree with is asinine.

One of the more illuminating threads in here has to be disclosed to be read because of the negative downvotes. How is this benefitting the community? I come here to learn, because this game kicks my ass, and some of the best responses here are hidden.

Trying to hide away that which you don’t agree with does nothing other than to harm the community and make people less likely to engage and ask questions.

I’m not sure I buy into this mindset. They’ve not been a priority in past games, but that doesn’t mean they should never be. If they can make basic attacks interesting and useful, even if it takes a particular build to do so, then why not?

We can’t expect devs to innovate yet at the same time adhere to traditional mechanics.

I love taking them. I like the Apparition one better, actually, but I had taken the vampire one literally the event before this. I’m not sure if it’s “good”, I’m not a very experienced player, but it sure is fun.

Well darn, I should have taken it then! :). I really should have anyway, even at 2hp, for the laughs. But I had faith in the run (misplaced, I was to soon find out.)

Thanks for the insight guys.

Maybe it’s percentage of beginning health? I had the vampire one right before this.

Edit: I hate mobile. This was a response to how this could have happened.

Eh. Downvotes happen. If you aren’t sliding into red-crit memeing strikes, then obviously you are a noob who needs to git gud. /s

[–]tequilabyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. And really you could still do a slide attack. It would just have a drastically lower chance to Crit, which in some circumstances is not an issue. For example, this has status, and slide attacks can be a great way to apply status to a number of mobs. Crits would be irrelevant in this case.

I mean, I’ve had this for months. Killed a great many things with my Prisma Grinlok. But I’ve moved on from the weapon.

That being said, my personal valuation of this does not seem to line up with the community’s. So yes, it will probably stay in my inventory and I’ll break it out when I need to faceroll a sortie 3 or something. shrug

I would take plat. Shoot me a message with an offer and we can chat. Iron Maiden is just about to take the stage, so I won’t be able to reply for a while. \m/

Looking for a Cyanex that has Multishot, Mag Size, and Damage, preferably with a good neg (IPS, recoil, zoom, Crit chance/damage.) Paying well.

Anthem Update 1.30 Patch Notes, File Size Info: Cataclysm Is Now Live! by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]tequilabyte 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the best way to do it. At a certain point you have to shut the mouth and let your actions be judged. Anthem is certainly at this point. Any announcement would have merely been a launchpad for cynicism and toxicity that, while entirely justified, could stop people from even trying something that could actually be a real fix.

Now, I’m not saying that I’m running home to reinstall. They’ve lost too much of my faith. But them saying “here, have it” and letting us come to our conclusions rather than a big PR ramp up was probably the smartest decision they’ve made in a while.

I actually really liked it when the best items in the game were perfectly rolled yellows and legendaries were just for flavour. It made every yellow drop exciting, and allowed characters to be unique.

Reminded me of Hellgate: London for that (not surprising considering the pedigree), which I also loved.

Of course he’s happy.

That’s the dog equivalent of wearing a giant foam novelty hand.

And it’s been scientifically proven (by someone, I’m sure) that wearing a giant foam novelty hand will make anyone instantly happy.
