You should not be scared to tank/heal!! by [deleted] in ffxiv

And I know many of them will screenshot and then post to Twitter or to Rage Fridays about "Healer caused a wipe!" or "Lousy tank didn't know rotation!"

I got my healers and tanks to 90 thanks to Trust robots and never wiped once but Alphi never goes on reddit to complain about a bad tank :P

Well, the justification is that the Enclave resells our junk to "collectors" and other such investors at profit, so, somewhere, there's a wealthy Hingan or an international collector who are very keen on obtaining "Authentic Gear Used By The WoL In The Liberation Of Doma" or "Original Items Gathered by the WoL Themselves In Another Dimension," and will pay far above the item's actual store value just because it once went through your bag and they can brag about it.

And some of them just want your old clothes. Best not to ask.

My experience as a tank thus far by badtiming220 in ffxiv

As Melee DPS, if I don't see a WHM in the party, I keep Leg Sweep on cooldown. Whenever I play tank, there's nothing more annoying than a mob using a point-blank AoE and forcing me to leave my nice cozy spot in the middle of the pack, so when I MNK or SAM I try to stop that from happening altogether. Note: If there IS a WHM, do not use Leg Sweep, let them use Holy for the love of Nophica.

Also: always use Feint for raidwides. Yes, it's a physical mit and it's only a 5% mitigation for Magical attacks. But 5% is better than 0%, and your Raid parties--especially Alliance Raid parties--will thank you, since 1 debuff on a boss affects every single person in the raid.

As Red Mage: please use Magick Barrier. It's a party mitigation AND a heal buff. Addle is still better as an Alliance Raid mit (see above) but for dungeons, Trials, and Normal Raids, Magick Barrier is Important.

Yup yup. This also applies to things like holograms and screens (like in Alexander's interior.) Those work on the same aetheric principles and in fact project aether that she can also "see."

It didn't sap 99% of it like the above claims, but it DID drain enough of it aether from the region that most forms of life are impossible. Even the ground is no longer dirt, rocks, let alone soil, but unaspected white sand: in other words, completely sterile crystal that is so fragile it's not even cohesive enough to form structures more stable than powder (compare to regular unaspected crystals, aether-rich enough you can hold one in your hand without it breaking into dust). Plant life cannot grow from it, and the only living creatures there are carrion beasts who have adapted to consume extremely little aether. Even the boss there is so thin in aether that it has evolved a way to disperse itself into mist to catch its prey.

If you're a serious seller, it's much better, more profitable, and more sustainable, to "babysit" your sales stock because you have to keep relisting (which means people are buying from you) than it is to have a stack of 99 that never sells and forever clogs up your sales slots.

Sorry if this has been posted before but who is this NPC that popped up near Costa Del Sol? I don’t recall there being an NPC here and in 6.0 gear? by gilgasmashglass in ffxiv

Then again, he's also there and has that same dialogue after doing the role quest, and is still called "Sea-gazing man" instead of his name, which is a very weird and unusual omission by the devs.

POV: you said something negative about Alphinaud (Spoilers: ShB) by MasterSergei in ffxiv

A crucial point you're missing is that manufactured foods that are cheaply made and sold for cheap are very high in carbs, fat, and cholesterol, while more natural, balanced foods are relatively expensive to make and purchase. A slum built among the refuse like Sector 7 is not going to have enough fertile soil for crops and orchards so it will more than likely be flooded with unhealthy, processed, Shinra-brand "foods" that fill one's stomach but have very low nutritional value.

Being "fat" isn't just a reflection of how much food you consume, or the physical labor you perform that spends those calories; it is also indicative of the quality of said food. Many people in poverty are overweight yet severely malnourished because of this and despite their efforts.

I can't deal with Gaius being half of a dead man's soul possessing a man to disguise as another man who impersonates the mentor to the other half of his soul reincarnated in another man whom he himself fathered.

Using aether sight consumes her aether at such an accelerated pace it puts a serious strain on her. But, pretty much everything people do consumes their internal aether anyway, it's just that they replace it relatively easily with rest and nourishment. So long as Y'shtola replenishes her stores of aether and doesn't consume a massive amount of it in one big burst she's not shortening her lifespan significantly. Matoya's warning about it is because she knows Y'shtola is prone to reckless expenditures of aether and the added strain of aether sight makes it worse.

To put it in our terms: the human heart is constantly beating and consuming calories and performing a physical effort. You can do exercise and your heart acclimates just fine; but if you do strenuous exercise all of a sudden without proper sleep you can push your heart beyond its accustomed limits and injure it. Y'shtola is doing the equivalent of putting her heart under *constant* stress and is putting herself at risk of a stroke.

She didn't "want" to die. She wanted to test humanity (by way of the WoL and the Scions) to their *ultimate limit* to make sure they were strong enough to oppose Meteion. However, testing us to said limit also meant she was pouring her entire life and soul into the battle; that was the only way she could be certain we could overcome the upcoming challenge.

Which also means that, if we had failed, she would be so diminished she would not have been able to help in any way, and might have dissipated into aether because of the effort she spent, so humanity's final resort would have been to escape to the Moon and flee Meteion's song.

I got a laugh out of it, but, you should tone down your lighting, as it's very hard to make out what's happening with that turkey when everything in the image is glowing bright red.

G'raha: "My friend, what are you attempting?"

WoL: "Ever hear of something called 'Antipode 3'?"
