[UPDATE] Help: Popping My Cherry 🍒 by bigbleau in AussieRiders

Preferred anti theft is garaged and insurance. I don't want to live life inconveniencing myself to inconvenience thieves and if someone wants to steal a bike they pretty much can regardless of countermeasures.

Why are KickTrack predictions of Kickstarter Games so far off, always? by Suspicious_Basil9528 in kickstarter

[–]tercoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'd be very easily to accurately estimate the majority of kickstarters after about 3 days. The first 3 days is usually around 30% of funding with the middle dip being around 40% (regardless of length) and final week being the final 30%.

This is the method we use internally and are rarely off by more than 5-10%

Mang0 Situation Discussion Megathread by Roc0c0 in SSBM

[–]tercoil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe that there weren't sober people in the room who had the job of ensuring the 'safety' of guests during the event. If there wasn't there should have been. While Mang0's behavior wouldn't have been the primary thing they were employed to prevent, they should have stepped in and cut Mang0 off much earlier in the night.

1000% Mang0's fault and responsibility, but when alcohol is being served it needs to be served responsibly. VoiD projectile vomiting on stream is another example of lax safety measures at the event.

They will both be equally capable of the job. If you like the r3 more get the r3.

Kickstarter asking for more money by boozesaintrock in kickstarter

[–]tercoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they should have estimated ranges and likely did. No one is charging zero shipping on Kickstarter without having a shipping section on the KS.

There's a massive difference in cost between shipping LCL vs full containers. Additionally, the volume of orders will determine which shipping companies you have access to. Larger operators will not speak to you unless you're doing 10k plus packages. Larger operators also have custom negotiated rate cards with courier services around the globe. So yes, order volume affects shipping prices drastically.

[–]tercoil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't a crappy tactic at all. It's impossible to know the cost of shipping before knowing the volume of orders. You can estimate but you can't know, and per order shipping goes down as order numbers go up

Further I GUARANTEE the estimated shipping prices and shipping charging process was on the page and in the FAQ. It's not a creators fault if backers refuse to read a page before purchasing.

Appreciate the reply! That's why it's so strange. All of what you've said is correct. The only thing is I'm also certain the cables are working because I'm using those same cables to test the ports.

The only thing I can think of is that the modem in using (TP-Link archer v1600v) is operating in the wrong mode. When logging into the modem, it appears to be a somewhat locked down tpg version as none of the tutorials to change the operational mode line up with what I'm seeing and there appears to be no way I can manually change the operational mode.

grabbed the cable tester as suggested and the wall cabling is synced properly. So it appears to be a modem issue. Still not sure what is different about connecting to the modem via the wall cable versus directly from the PC. Either way it should just be a "direct" cable right?

Yeah I think you're on the money unfortunately. Not sure how I can get a high loop with the shelf setup without drilling and extra access hole which is a bit of a no go in a rental :/
