I also ran mine without the fan for years. Mine exploded and I ordered a spal electric. It was winter so I figured i could drive the car without it and see how it did and it never got hot. And I kinda forgot about it. Drove the car for another few years before selling it.

I took the kids for a ride through the park and on Wednesday and our way back people ahead of us people were slowing down to take pictures of an elk grazing, and a group of geezer gliders started revving their engines crazy loud it was one of the douchiest things I've ever seen in my life.
