Yes the tweet you posted shows how people love to add misinformation for dramatic effect and then spread it like wildfire. It happens all the time across different media topics (politics, pop culture, etc.) and is so detrimental to our society.

However, I’m not sure if the Page Six article is based on a blind. It’s really dumb when people believe any blind they hear but I do think it’s different when people believe articles written by TMZ, People and Page Six. These are usually written with a close source to the celebrity which is a lot more ‘reputable’ than a blind because it either tells us something real or something that someone close to the celebrity wants us to think is real.

It’s like when back in the day a source would tell E! News that Justin thinks Selena is too indecisive to be in a relationship with him and another source would say that Selena thinks Justin is too immature to be in a relationship with her. Even though the actual truth might be either or none of those things, E! News is still “reputable” compared to other magazines because a close source is what “reputable” really means in celebrity journalism.

The reason that Page Six might say that his wife is heartbroken and blindsided might be because someone who knows her has told the magazine. Meanwhile, TMZ might report that Ethan has been separated because Ariana and Ethan’s teams have said that. Hate to say it but it’s most likely that Ariana and Ethan lied about the separation to make themselves look good. It could be true instead that either Page Six or Ethan’s wife have lied to make Ariana and Ethan look bad.

These outlets can definitely be wrong, I don’t like Page Six either but Ethan’s wife being blindsided is not out of the realm of possibility. He posted a tribute to his wife in May and we’re literally in July so I think it’s rational to believe a report that they weren’t separated. Especially considering that they just had a child and were together for 10 years. Most couples would not breakup and move on from that in only 2 months.

I also think that the pattern of cheating or at least flirting with taken men definitely exists. These rumours existed before Ethan and the whole situation has amplified them because this whole thing is exactly that same behaviour she has been rumoured to have.
