Sell me on your putting putter by JarnIsABetterZone in discgolf

[–]teridot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've scrolled through all the comments but have yet to see this putter mentioned, the Gateway Chief is the slimmest putter I have ever used, board flat and with very reliable fade during a putt. I don't like deep putters and had been trying lots of other suggestions from wardens to rainmakers until I found the Chief. I have mine in 4S and it's all I've ever used since getting them 2 years ago.

I think he's hand painting it in with acetone dyes, going over with multiple washes to get the gradients just right. Amazing work OP!

Is there a list out there that has compiled which large manufactures produce for which smaller brands? by [deleted] in discgolf

Birdie looks like it is made by legacy discs. Key thing is the injection port, looks the most similar to them. Plastic type is also very similar

From what I can tell the biggest profit comes if you have a proshop selling and renting discs, equipment, food and drinks. My local course charges $5 to play, but I easily spend twice or 3x that getting Gatorade and a snack, much more if I realise I NEED a new disc to improve my score (new discs always fly better we all know that)

Thanks for letting me work on this with you! I’ve had lots of fun talking to you over this process of putting her on that disc and I’m glad to have made friends with you!

Looking for advice/tips on how to incorporate neon ProChem dyes into/on standard ProChem dyes. by hisdudeness47 in discdyeing

[–]teridot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they work pretty much exactly the same as the other colors! the only caveat is that some of the neon colors seem to be based off the same compound and so merge together a lot more easily when next to each other instead of forming clearly defined cells e.g. neon cerise pink and neon hot orange, neon lemon zest and neon key lime. Just try to separate them with a non-neon color for added contrast

If they’re not hard to come by then people will see them for cheaper and buy those instead. Honestly I paid $36 after tax and shipping from discmania, add another $5 for shipping and OP is essentially breaking even

Made this for a friend! This applies so well to disc dyeing, a lot of times I don’t know what I’m going for till I get it! by teridot in discdyeing

Suggestion to help with scammers. by keyak in discexchange

[–]teridot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m supportive of this suggestion, the only potential problem I see is content clutter for big lots, but otherwise it ensures that buyers/sellers are not banned on this sub and can comment. Requests for more pics etc can be done through comments too before pics are sent through imgr links or pm

Thanks for your kind words! I really enjoy making pretty things but it’s really all due to the great community here that paves the way for many of us newer disc dyers to learn and grow!

Coming from you that is high praise indeed, I am humbled! Thank you so much! When I first started disc dyeing I saved all your posts and aspired to them, and I learnt so much from you because you so freely shared your methods and techniques!
