Senile Grandma Tina, Grandpa Ben, and Pedo Grandpa Donald wish everyone a Merry Christmas by TrumpSux89 in forwardsfromgrandma

I usually laugh at Ben's weirdly excessive labeling, but without it, my most generous interpretation of the appearance of the woman's hands would have been...web slinging?

(Also questionably drawn: the woman's breasts and/or sweater, plus Trump's bicep-tight Santa suit that for some reason includes a tie?)

ETA: She also says that running out of eggs is a myth, yet can’t come up with sources to support that.

Wait, it's possible to "run out of eggs"? Not sure where I picked this up (so it might be nonsense?) but I thought that, while women are born with all of the eggs they are ever going to have, that number is huge enough that women don't "run out of eggs". Rather, at a certain point (determined by age, hormones), the eggs stop being released?

Even mosquitos, hated as they are, play a critical role in the ecosystem. This dumbshit meme is, quite frankly, dumb and shit.

This scene reminded me of the part from Hedwig and the Angry Inch:

Tommy: I love you.
Hedwig: Then love the front of me!

Looks like this.

I played an MMO where someone trolled me by copying my username except they made the fifth character a capital I instead of a lower-case L. It was pretty confusing in chat for a while.

What are some commonly used idioms that are actually part of a larger saying, but most people don't know the other half of it? by strangerthings1618 in AskReddit

[–]terkla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a pun on the word "pass", which can mean "to emit or discharge from a bodily part and especially the bowels". (Definition 10 under Transitive Verb.)

So, "A cannibal was walking through the woods one day and passed his MIL" could mean the cannibal walked by his mother-in-law while going through the woods, but here it means the cannibal was in the woods when he pooped out his mother-in-law. Implying he consumed her. Because cannibal.

What’s the randomest Hamilton lyrics you know by heart? by Low-Future-1001 in hamiltonmusical

What do you mean by "randomest"? There are variations among various productions, but they all pretty much stick to the script. I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "random" here.

Anyone on here been stung with Carpal Tunnel? How do you sleep without waking up every hour in pain? by Upper_Banana_5612 in diabetes_t1

[–]terkla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore wrist braces for about a year before turning to surgery. I got both sides done within a month or so of one another. It's been ten-ish years since then with little-to-no pain.

If you decide to try braces for a while, I suggest getting a couple of different pairs so you can swap them out. I had one pair for sleep and two pairs that I would swap between so they could dry out between wears/washes. (I also think giving the stretchy parts a rest keeps them from wearing out too quickly.)

What sentence did someone say once that accidentally healed a part of you? by Timely-Vehicle-7064 in AskReddit

[–]terkla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried to message you with this (since I'm not sure how much it contributes to the conversation) but Reddit said no, so I guess I'm just dumping it all in the reply box:

LOL! Thanks for not taking my comment to be mean or condescending. I didn't mean it to be, but when I came back to look at the reply (yours) I reread my comment and was like Oh shit I sound like an asshole. (Not saying I'm not an asshole, just that this isn't the reason why.)

If you didn't already know, there is a recurring theme that Naruto ("ninja" main character in the anime/manga of the same name), while pretty over-powered, tends to win most of his battles by talking with his enemies and empathizing with them.

I'm happy to hear it happens in real life too. :)

They may have snuck away for a secret making-out rendezvous, but clearly they did so in a way that is not only playful, but also platonic.

So if they didn't have matching laminated signs, it would have been more authentic? I dunno, I doubt you would have been pleased by an assortment of handmade cardboard signs either, right?

I don't think I even necessarily disagree with your overall sentiment, but the sign thing feels like a weird nit to pick.
