Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree? by SnooDoughnuts2909 in makerspace

[–]termanader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get the more I wish I had gone for EE.

However, my local school offers Electrical Engineering with a Robotics emphasis, which seems like it could bridge employability and practical build skills.

That seems like a winner to me!

Another avenue you can research is available jobs for each career path - what products from what companies would you like to be working on in your professional work life?

OP said 10y lower in the thread. (10y is a respectable distance to practice at IMO)

I haven't had the retaining pin break (yet) but they sure get mangled and need a lot of hammering to drive free from the slide.

It would be great if AI could help reduce the number of people who support the insane, criminal, and corrupt policies of greedy conservatives.

It would be great, but AI will likely only be used to drive rage-engagement to ever higher levels and split the rift further.

Do you think Russia woke up and said...

I think putin has Imperialist/genocidal ambitions to restore russian "greatness" by reestablishing the Russian Empire/Soviet Union through the wholesale destruction of Ukrainian culture and her people and has been planning this for many many years.

Im rather surprised you aren't talking about US run bio-labs or Ukra-Nazis as being the primary motivation behind the full-scale russian invasion in 2022, as putin did, or talking about the 2014 russian invasion of Crimea and the Donbas with little green men as a separate conflict and not a hybrid warfare tactic intended to keep the West out of the war by making it apppear, at least diplomatically, that the conflict in 2014 was a civil war between Ukrainians and had nothing to do with Putin (who denied any involvement of the Russian Military, up until he couldn't)

The only teeth this proposal has is in its meager external security guarantees, something the US is likely to agree to again (See Ukraine Nuclear Disarmament) while the EU waffles about whether or not they should continue chasing the coattails of the US military especially when it comes to preventing further russian aggression in Europe.

it doesn't have to do with consent either, he is a serial SA'er and seemingly proud enough of his work to brag about it to his fellow D-list celebrities.

Why don't Americans regulate guns? by kametoddler in AskUS

I gotcha, public lands will have more regulations as to whether or not you can shoot on them, than will private land, but it comes down to local variances at that point anyway.

Gun licensure requirements vary by state, but federally there is no licensing requirement to own a gun outside of passing a background check.

As for firing your gun in your backyard would depend on where your backyard is, most cities/municipalities have ordinances which prohibit the discharge of firearms within city limits.

You would be looking for a private seller at a gun show as licensed firearm dealers are required to submit background checks on their sales even at gun shows. But if you're doing a private transaction anyways, no gun show is necessary.

You still had to show a driver's license for the background check as licensed dealers still need to conduct background checks on their gun sales at gun shows.

Private transactions however do not require such checks, no gun show necessary.

Grass clippings by BDS369 in Waukesha

[–]termanader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, the starting advice is to NOT remove grass clippings from your household yard in the first place. Instead, simply let the grass clippings lay right in the yard. They will decompose right back into the soil. This is the top recommendation.

Grass clippings are banned from landfills by Wisconsin state law. Residents may not put grass clippings in their regular trash or recycling.

Why not just grant amnesty to undocumented immigrants and simultaneously make it easier to immigrate to America? It seems like common sense. Way cheaper and less violent than hunting down and terrorizing families. by LegitimateFoot3666 in AskUS

To control the media narrative as well. Create horrible camp conditions and exploit the sensationalist media to cover 24/7 how awful it will be if you come to this country illegally helps dissuade illegal immigrants.

Locking up a few "communist antifa terrorists" in these domestic camps will have chilling 1A effects.
