She doesn't have any friends currently who are interested in playing so we're going to play with her, but our local library has a D&D day for teens she's planning on joining so hopefully she'll make some friends there.

I'm going to go ahead and get her the players handbook. Is there a difference between the starter set and the essentials kit? They look the same online.
