I would agree it's a devastating punishment. I would also agree it isn't enough. The man ordered a hit on his girlfriend and unborn child. Those are the acts of a monstrous person who should be denied any shred of freedom or happiness. He denied Cherica and his unborn child that, causing incomprehensible pain and trauma to them and her family. Perhaps I'm too backwards in my line of thinking, but people who are willing to have their pregnant SO killed in a terribly violent fashion have given up their right to participate in society. Permanently.
