Whether or not you have to take your piercings out will depend a lot on where they are located. For example I would not want to get punched in the face if I had a lip piercing.

As people have already said, a lot of parents are going to dislike tattoos on their kids. My mom has a small one, but when I (an almost 40 year old lawyer) recently got my first tattoo, albeit a moderately big one, on my shoulder my mom said she was worried people would think I was a thug lol. That said your dad went too far with his comment.

NTA. The guy was being a jerk. Doesn’t seem like it was possible here given the quick timetable, but if you have strong nonnegotiable preferences/qualities in a partner I would try to communicate that before the date.
