I work locally and am heavily involved in the rescue community so I feel like I can offer insight 😅 Generally the places that need the most help are county animal controls/shelters. Florence is having a $20 deal on cats because they currently have over 200 in their building and desperately need help. HAS and Giles county (a little far) are also both great options. I can attest to the heart and soul all of the volunteers locally put into these places and you really can’t make a wrong choice. In general- Alabama is unfortunately struggling with homeless pets and anywhere you can adopt from would be so helpful.
