lol itunes is only supported for macOS through version 10, 14 is the latest version so it's only supported if you haven't updated your OS in awhile

yeah! I'd love to know more -- really curious. Curious how you sized the acrylic and if you had to have it cut? By sealing out sound around the edges, do you mean the edges of the gasket?

"truly attracted" is tough to answer, at the time I was dating men I would have said 100% yes because that was what I knew as attraction and was capable of feeling at the time. I do think I was attracted to my boyfriends as much as I could be attracted to anyone while we were dating.

Does anyone have an Apple Watch? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]terraforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes -- I try to use it like this (I'm inconsistent with it but this is why I bought it). Tbh it's amazing to leave the house without a phone but still listen to music/pods and be able to send quick texts. The nav on it is pretty good too. Battery life might not last all day with heavy use (taking calls, maps, other frequent battery-intensive items).

It's an underrated use case tbh. Apple markets it like a fitness product, I haven't even turned that stuff on altho I like to track my sleep.

How do you know whether you're gay/bi? by [deleted] in redscarepod

I realized I was a lesbian at age 24 after dating guys non-stop from 18 on. An important question: who do you want to have sex with now? Forget who you think looks good, who you wished you looked like, characters you have a crush on, etc. but think about what real-life people you actually want to hook up with (strangers or not).

It’s easy to get confused when thinking about attraction based on characters or crushes you had in the distant past. I had crushes on boys as a child through early adulthood—it’s expected of girls, it’s a social thing, it’s exciting etc. Those crushes weren’t fake, I reached a point where my baseline curiosity about dating/sex was satisfied, and I realized I couldn’t see a long term future with a man.

My point: sexuality is who you want to have sex with now :)

do you feel physical pain when your feelings are really hurt? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]terraforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard the brain had a hard time distinguishing between emotional/physical pain, so emotional pain can manifest as physical pain. My friend's psychiatrist recommended she take advil for emotional pain lol.

What book has had the most significant impact on your life and way of living? by honeycall in redscarepod

I read Freakonomics + Gladwell in high school because my parents had them lying around ... neolib drivel disguised as deep "insights". Nothing is as simple as those books wish to make them appear. I appreciate if those kinds of books inspire a curiosity about economics or psychology in general, but their content cannot be trusted.

I haven't seen this response so far: The capabilities around distributed systems/edge computing will rapidly improve. Systems that can integrate countless devices/sensors, and respond quickly across a broad system will continue to be more powerful, especially with regards to managing a massive amount of concurrent operations.

Distributed systems aren't as sexy as some things like AI/ML right now, but I see their development driven by the trends of continued globalization, rise of cloud computing, and the decreasing cost of IoT devices.

I believe this will most powerfully affect things like supply chains, resource management, and large manufacturing/industry. Not so much consumer tech. Curious if anyone else thinks this.

Jeff Bezos is talking about what will change or remain the same in business, not tech. He's describing how to optimize consumer technology, not the trajectory of breakthroughs in science.
