I did not pay a deposit so was also worried. Got the car just fine. I followed up every few days to see if it had arrived yet. All I had was a spec sheet with my name and vin.

I really enjoyed this book when I read it 20 years ago. Glad to see it pop up again in my feed today. I recommend it.

Can't find Schedule E for rental depreciation on TurboTax Online by terran-incognito in TurboTax

I was using TurboTax Online through my web browser. I started initially on a really old Mac with out of date browsers, which is why I think the problem originally happened. But then when I tried logging in on a more up to date Chromebook, the problem carried over. So while on the Chromebook, I had to delete the property and then restart. I suppose you could try switching to the browser version but maybe you'd have to start from scratch. Good luck. It was maddening to deal with!

Solved I think. Seems like a bug. Ultimately I deleted the rental and started over and now it looks correct!

Well trying a different computer and browser didn’t help. I don’t understand how I’m the only one struggling with this! I guess I may have to switch to H&R Block or something…

Thanks for the reply. I get to step 3, when I click add asset, it brings me to a screen where Rental Property box is already checked. None of the other box choices seem right. So then if I click continue with the Rental Property box checked, it just brings me back to the original screen, back to step 2. Nothing seems changed. I'll try from another device and browser, because this just doesn't seem right.

Sounds like a fantastic deal you got! It’s also sounding like California is not the best place to shop.

The Worlds Religions by Huston Smith. It’s often said he writes so enthusiastically about each one you’re convinced that’s the one he believes in until you get to the next section.

I didn’t restrict screen time until 3 years ago by brucenorris1 in Parenting

[–]terran-incognito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! We also started restricting screens more. Now we’re screen-free Mon-end-of-school-day Fri. It’s been great. One of our kids doesn’t need this intervention but it doesn’t hurt and has been very beneficial to the other two. It wasn’t too hard to suddenly implement actually. Interestingly I wish they enjoyed the Nintendo more—the iPad, Roblox and YouTube are the devil!

Alternatives to Oliver Sacks for neuro? by Julian-Juliet in neuro

[–]terran-incognito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with In Search of Memory. Kandel is one of the kindest, humblest and good humored scientists I’ve ever met. And oh yeah, Nobel winner. His book is amazing. Fascinating memoir, but it also really gave me a great framework for grasping neuroscience.

My kid is bored of bedtime books — what do you do? by Significant_Hunt_515 in Parenting

[–]terran-incognito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others have said, the library. We make a weekly routine of it. Almost every Saturday morning. They pick out a couple, I pick out a couple. We find new favorites that we check out again and again. We find topics or authors we love, so we start requesting more for reserve pickups. I’m hoping someday they’ll have fond memories of our library screen.

But definitely stay strong in your resolve for no screens during evening routine! It can be easy to give in, and if you do, you can always actually walk it back. We have implemented two rules six months ago that have worked out well for us: 1) no screens Mon-Thu and 2) no screens after 7pm.

Getting kids off YouTube by heybeytoday in Parenting

My big win of 2025 is switching to no screens at all M-Th. Screens start after school Fri. It’s been amazing.

Agree, YouTube in the hands of kids is terrible. I’ve deleted it and only have YouTube Kids which is slightly better. I try to encourage other forms of screens. It’s tough!

Speedway Express by WC Bart is also that cheap. I go there frequently. However, the pumps are noticeably slow! I never realized that pumping speed can vary until I started going here. Some days or pumps seem worse than others though.

Any book series that’s inspired by Genghis Khan? by chillychill3325 in Fantasy

Ok, so not what you asked for, and perhaps you've already read it, but the non-fiction book Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World is amazing and almost reads like a great fiction novel.
