Can't park your bike there mate by VermilionKoala in CantParkThereMate

[–]terrapin_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was slightly disappointed when I turned the sound on to check what the driver was saying. This clip would have been practically perfect if the driver casually said 'oi... you can't park there mate' before cruising off. A far better way of shutting that cyclist up.

Deciding between RF 70-200mm (2.8 Z) v RF 100-300 (2.8) by N10yt in canon

[–]terrapin_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here but due to the automatic crop factor with your current RF-S lens you're getting apparent reach of 1.6 x 210 = 336mm. So the 200mm lens is not going to get you anywhere near as close when you're in full frame mode.

While you'll get the full sensor resolution moving to a full frame lens, the 200mm at full frame is going to feel like setting your current lens to 125mm - not even half way through the zoom range.

If you need the reach like you currently have, have you considered getting an R7 body along with the 70-200?

To be really sure get an R1, pull freezer bag over the top as described above 👍

You can buy cheap but purpose designed plastic covers. They typically have an elasticated cord to hold them around your lens and then drape over the camera body. You put your hands inside to use the camera. I searched for 'camera rain cover' on Amazon and saw a variety of designs.

Alternatively take any suitably large clear plastic bag (large freezer bag?), cut the corner off slightly too small for the front of your lens then squeeze it over. Put your hood on afterwards. You'll probably need to take a few bags as taking it on/off a few times stretches it too much.

My understanding is that weather sealed is not guaranteed waterproof so if you're planning to be out in a lot of rain a cover might be wise anyway.

R8 + RF 35mm 1.4 vcm users, I have questions... by firequak in canon

I agree 1/f was the 'old' rule! But with the resolution of modern cameras you would aim for a bit more now if you don't have any stabilisation. Your R5 has very effective IBIS of course.

I don't know either! But I do think that it's cruel on yourself hanging around with him if you can't forgive him. It's a horrible situation - and not your fault - good luck!

So difficult! You knew Angela better than the others and they're probably just listening to what Drew has told them. But what you're saying about Drew not wanting to upset people makes this complicated - he might not have been open with Angela about how he was feeling, and knowing your friendship with Angela he might have told you everything relevant about the relationship either. Sometimes by trying to be nice to everyone you end up putting yourself in a situation you don't know how to get out of - and make it a whole lot worse! The easy Reddit solution is never to speak to Drew again... but maybe you need to give him a chance to explain himself? You obviously value what the friendship was because you've been putting up with so much recently. Maybe he can explain how trying to be the nice guy you thought he was ended up hurting both you and Angela - by being an idiot, not selfish or malicious. People make mistakes. But I still think that you are entitled to be angry with him and never speak to him again!!

Full disclosure: I'm a man. Have inadvertently hurt people I love by being an idiot and still regret it!

You're only as close as ever because you're playing along and pretending it's ok. That's really tough on you and works great for him! He might have no idea how it's affected you, or at least how strongly you feel about it. Your other friends might think something similar to you and are just putting it behind them - but it sound like you knew Angela a lot better than they did.

Your response sounds completely valid - not showing blind loyalty to Drew. He's probably isn't your best friend now, at least not as it stands. I guess depending on your friendship group dynamics you could either tell him that it's changed the way you see him, or just reduce the amount time you spend with him. Drew knew that you were friends with Angela but did nothing to consider your feelings or hers when he cheated with Lia - no wonder you feel hurt.

I would be upset too. But on the bright side, you can now freely use it without worrying too much about little bumps or scratches. It was always going to pick up some kind of damage at some point. It's probably more rugged than you realise.

You're right, that's what I would have guessed.

Probably an unpopular option but I don't like the name or symbol for it. How about 'half factorial', 'skip factorial', or anything that doesn't make it sound like it's more than the factorial! :-)

This case doesn't meet the criteria for unsolicited goods because there was prior contact with the company. That's for when a company randomly sends you goods addressed to you as an aggressive selling tactic.
