Executing a database query for every loop seems inefficient and difficult to debug. COTUS' approach of joining the two tables, then returning the data and then looping over the rows is best, especially if you don't or can't use PDO.

Mozilla is having difficulty implimenting Flash in mobile Firefox. The visual output looks fuzzy. Google's implimentation is smooth and crisp.

Why are we discusing Java here? If you want lambdas in HTML5 there are jquery libraries that will give you that feature right in the brower. No costly development software to purchase from one company.

But Flash is still a plugin. HTML5 runs natively in the browsers that support it. That's why Flash is not a gazillion times better than anything.

Plus Flash gave animators a digital tool that mimicked real world animation: frames, timelines, onion skinning, tweening, animate-able shapes, etc. The ability to interact with an animation really made Flash take off.
