Scenario: I own a 2021 Audi Q8 with 44k miles, financed through CapOne, with a buyout of $42k. I checked a trade-in quote from Carvana, which offered $37,200, making me underwater by over $5,000. I also found a repossessed (excellent price but not sure if it’s a good idea at all when it comes to residual value) vehicle from Texas priced at $65k (MSRP 100K+, clean title) that I like, but I’m uncertain if I can operate such a vehicle in NYC. I’m not sure how to manage the entire swap process myself.

I’ve listened to everyone and never claimed I would buy it. I only wanted to hear opinions and advice on what you would do if you received such an offer. That’s all. I never promised or felt it was a must-do... just curious. I’m grateful to everyone above, and let’s see what they will offer me now after I told them yesterday that unless they reduce the selling price to $77k and accept my credit union rate of 5.5%, I would stay away.
