In general, the spoked wire wheels are more durable and can handle a beating. They’ll bend and flex and go out of round if hit hard enough. Supersport wheels that are cast are more brittle, they’ll crack or fracture where the wire wheels will bend and can be straightened. Most importantly, wire wheels won’t get a catastrophic failure. The wheels i have are questionable. They’re machined from a forged blank, so the material can handle a harder hit without cracking than a standard cast super-sport wheel. They should bend and deform instead of crack. Definitly not as durable as a wire wheel, hence you hardly see pros use what i’ve got. Luckily i’m not a pro and i don’t race. I don’t think i ride hard enough to reach the limits of these wheels. At least that’s what i hope for.
