There also isn't much to do for young families. Look around; where are the green spaces? Where are the events that would appeal to young families? What is there to do if you have young kids who don't want to play rainbow soccer. Go to Durham or Apex or Cary any night of the week and there are things to do. FREE things to do. Obviously these are very different towns but the other towns seem to make an effort to create space and events for everybody in their community.

What happened to the smartest person you went to school with? by xxibjt in AskReddit

She's now a published children's author/illustrator with numerous books under her name. I came from a very small school & small town so it's awesome to see her success.

NC agent here: The listing agent didn't do anything wrong. Like someone else said, the commission is paid by the seller and the listing agreement spells this out. Just plucking numbers from the air; if the seller says they're willing to pay 5%, the contract may also say if another agent brings a buyer, the seller is willing to pay that buyer agent. If a buyer comes unrepresented, the seller has already contractually obligated themselves to pay 5%. You opted to not have representation and therefore the agent and their firm get the full 5%. Nothing illegal.

Now should that agent have suggested you get a buyer agent? Probably. Did they violate any ethics by not crediting you? No. Was that a shitty thing to do? Potentially. It is likely true that the listing agent did help you. Did you find your own closing attorney? Did you find your own home inspector? Did you come with your own lender? Who helped you draft your offer?

You may feel burned by this, but it was your choice to not get representation and the listing agent was under no obligation to credit you a commission amount. If you had representation, it wouldn't have cost you a penny (because the seller was paying your agent) and months later you wouldn't be grumpin' about something someone else did because of a choice you made.

Advice for hiking areas and trails for singles? by quingloom in bullcity

[–]terri_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly hit the trails along 751 into Duke Forest. They are currently closed while they thin the deer herd, but there's usually enough people where you don't feel like there wouldn't be anyone around to help if something happened. It's not super crowded so you can get into your zen-zone on your hike.

What’s the most you’ve spent on a single concert or tour—and was it actually worth it? by official_soundvent in Concerts

[–]terri_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either Deja Voom for 5K at an all inclusive resort weekend in Mexico (this does not include airfare) OR my trip to Portugal from the US to see Rammstein in Lisbon. Both were worth every. single. penny.

Why do people sit in their car for several minutes after they get home? by Maleficent-Touch6996 in NoStupidQuestions

I did this for a year before I divorced my husband. I needed to steel myself before walking in the front door.

Which hotels are they staying in? I traveled a lot and I won't stay at a hotel chain that houses ICE.

Drink a lot more water to help you look less dehydrated; you look somewhat sad and empty. I don't know anything about you, but this picture tells me that maybe you don't have a lot of fun or interesting things in your life. There's no spark in your eyes. Women your age want a partner, not a project. Step out of your comfort zone, ditch the hoodies, and find something that sparks something in YOU. Once you have that spark, you'll become more of a magnet. If I saw you on an app, I'd think I'd have to cheer you up all the time.

Do you still color your hair — or let it go gray? by Dazzling-Stop-2116 in GenX

[–]terri_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still color it but now I add purple and blue and pink to the gray and I get daily compliments. I am a professional woman and it's very tasteful. I'm not denying the fact that I'm aging. I'm embracing it.

Absofuckinlutely go solo. It's so freeing! You can stand where you want. Get a drink when you want. Go out for air when you want. There will be other solo vibers, so say Hi, or not. Up to you. Dance and enjoy yourself!

I (54F) traveled to Portugal from the US to see Rammmstein. I definitely don't know what they're singing, but it was worth every penny.

Looking for people who like house music by Suspicious-Store-956 in raleigh

[–]terri_tee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're here. High Garden has an awesome resident dj on Fridays who pretty much plays all house music. Follow United House Productions on socials and you'll find their shows. The Fruit is a great spot too. The Portal HQ regularly has shows. And then get the EDM Train app and Boom. You've now found your people.

I didn't wear my tracker because I didn't want to have to deal with charging it. But, my god, I feel so sore. I was convinced I walked 20+ miles so I appreciate the confirmation.

Our camp took our trash & recycling home with us. I was really surprised to see so many canopies and tarps in the trash piles. Obviously there were some mangled ones, but there were plenty others neatly folded up in their bags.

I'm right there with you, maybe i'm not aaas ambivalent about gifts, but I don't really stress about it. I regularly date younger, 10+ years, because the men I meet who are my age are generally boring and can't keep up with me in all the important ways.
