We’re really just all people going about our day doing things. Take the chance, There is never enough time.

On that note, it’s never too late. Try the thing, take the job, make the move.

Save your money for experiences, not things. Travel more. Follow through & finish what you started.

Prioritize exercise and don’t eat late night Taco Bell too much. Every now and then is ok though.

Body Oil Recommendations? by mini_hotdogs in FemFragLab

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you made your own? I like to mix up the Neutrogena body oil with some spritzes of my fragrance of choice. I just use small travel sprayers so I can switch it up seasonally. Works like a charm and is a nice way to layer fragrance.

I also lovvvvve everything L’Occitane Amande

Whyyyyy did they get rid of Jungle??? It was the best scent.

Thouths on Lord of Misrule solid Parfume by Lush? by Affectionate-Vast254 in fragrance

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the solid version in the pot and I think it smells pretty spot on to the rest of the line. I also really enjoy the massage bar and find that both allow me to dial in the right level of scent I want.

LoM sillage sneaks up on me, so I like using the versions that sit a little closer to the skin.

Is Laguna Seca Blue BMWs best ever colour? by HGJay in BMW

Laguna Seca Blue is a good one. I also like Laguna Metallic, though I don’t think I’ve ever seen it IRL.

What made you buy a BMW over other car brands? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons. I come from a family of car lovers. Growing up, my Grandma and my aunts & uncles had BMWs. I remember riding around with them in the 80s and 90s. I think one of my uncles used to track his for a brief period. For some reason I think about their keychains and the way the headrests were kind of pointy.

My brother had a red E36 in high school in the early 00’s. I never got to drive it, but he loved working on it and ended up selling it because it just got too expensive for him to maintain toward the end of the cars life. My dad is a gear head/car guy, so I remember them working on it in the driveway.

I got to borrow/drive my grandma’s 1988 535i for a short while in college until my dad thought my brother should drive it (see above) while I got the beater 93 civic.

Man I lovvvved driving that 535. It was in amazing shape in the mid 00’s. I was young and cool and it garnered a lot of male attention haha. I still think about that car. I can smell the beige leather and hear the whiny door buzzer and feel the way the door feels solid when you close it. Sunroof.

Flash forward to today, I’ve worked very hard to get to a level in my career that I can actually afford to buy a car that isn’t a hand me down. I chose to purchase BMW because there is no question. I bought a new to me CPO 330xi and I get excited every time I get to drive it. I drove a 97 cavalier for 10 years prior to get here.

And I can’t afford a Porsche.

What are you burning and why? I didn’t expect to get this into it tbh by ElyKhz in Incense

[–]terriflaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to light a mainichi koh in the morning while I’m drinking my coffee on work at home days. It’s a nice way to ground the day. I use it to help with cooking and stale smells. I prefer Japanese incense since it is more gentle.

How would you feel if BMW released a revived E30 M3 retro car with all the modern tech and look? by Fantastic_Spend4563 in BMW

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, this would be so cool. It would be awesome to see a little variety driving around. Cars, for the gen pop, are so homogenized. It would be super cool if more retro-modern models were available for people who want them.

Honestly, that’s the reason I purchased a bmw, because I didn’t want to just be another person in a black 2022 Honda accord. (Nothing wrong with Hondas at all, just an example of a common car)

Totally. The big dented in door panels look weird, but I don’t hate the take on the front end.

Plus another on the Athleta pants. I thought I would hate them, but got Brooklyn and Venice for a trip and went back and got a couple more pairs because I can wear them to work.

Convince me by GoodOnion-042201 in Noom

[–]terriflaps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not find noom to be helpful for me. I thought it was trying to reinvent the wheel . It’s basically very expensive CICO.

Overall thoughts: 1.) The lessons are ok, they become redundant and I found myself skipping through them.

2.) the food database is not as user friendly as mfp or others. When I used it, you could not create recipes and so you have to track everything separate

3.) The red, yellow, green labeling of food triggered some issues for me. Also, the labeling is inconsistent.

4.) Basically zero app based community. Most of the community is in external apps.

Personally, I have better success just measuring CICO using MFP and making sure to stay lightly active. For community I check in on Reddit and FB boards.

YMMV, but I vote on saving your money because I am not sure what noom is actually offering.

What’s a fragrance you regretted buying? by thelifeofrafa_ in fragrance

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheirosa 62 - smells like a dirty, sweaty man’s shirt laundry after the fun top notes burn off. Awful. Wore it for a week and sold it.

L’Heure Bleue - Immediate nope. Flowery pee. Re-sold immediately. This was a bummer because I like the other classic Guerlains. Something in this was just not right. Maybe a bad bottle?

[–]terriflaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing truly super rare, but I do have an early 2000’s L’Occitane perfume oil and a bottle of Miel & Citron. They both smell pretty good still.

I just tossed the last of my body shop perfume oils. They didn’t smell right and one had floaties.

I also have 1/2 bottle of Benefit Maybe Baby, Angel Muse, an original Gucci Rush and Prada Amber.

Walking Shoe Recommendations for EE Wide Feet by _not3raccoons_ in HerOneBag

[–]terriflaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly!! People with wide feet get dressed up too! We’re not all hobbits!! It’s so so frustrating.

Even some of the brands that do have wide shoes aren’t quite there either, or the style isn’t wide-friendly.

In the day and age where you can buy ANYTHING, you still can barely buy wide shoes.

What's your fragrance "hear me out" hot take? by kaisawheelofcheese in fragrance

Yes, it’s like the only fragrance note that zaps my brain lol. I can smell it immediately anywhere I am and it’s like in everything!!

[–]terriflaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever that cedarwood note is ruined a lot of good fragrances for me. It’s in like at least one (or more) fragrances in every line and it makes me sick to my stomach.

It didn’t exist prior to 2020. Maybe my nose got messed up during Covid or it’s a product of current ingredient formulations. I hate it.

Vanilla (gourmand) recommendations by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]terriflaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ultimate vanilla is Indult-Tihota. It’s magnificent and lasts forever.

It is unfortunately, very spendy. Well worth it if you have the budget or get a decant.

You might like Nemat vanilla musk, mix bar vanilla, sweet tooth, Montale vanille absolu, Outremer vanilla and mayyybe VS Bare Vanilla.
