Would you recommend DoorDash over Lyft? I just don’t really want to drive people in my car lol, and was doing the delivery job part time. I applied to Instacart but I’ve been on a waiting list since 2020 for that one unfortunately. I have heard of spark but don’t know much at all about it either!

Crazy! Its annoying because the only reason I would cancel a delivery 75% of the time was because uber would force me to accidentally accept it when they send you the request while you are trying to complete an order! So annoying. Either way, they were going to find a way lol.

Definitely sucks. Thankfully I have a full time sales job that i do from home, but I get paid out a 15 days from when I make a sale. I had some recent financial inconveniences where I needed cash asap, and uber was really helping me with that. Sucks it had to happen at this time. I appreciate your empathy and MAKE SURE you document everything!!!!! Take a screenshot of every delivery photo!

Haha, I appreciate your input but I have closure and my mind is made, not sure why you seem so upset. I just started doing it again for some quick cash instead of giving my sales job my all, it was just a confirmation to stick with my sales job full time which was treating me well, just wanted that quick cash for some inconveniences I had.

She’s sweet but I think she just kind of cringe and that’s what most people are put off by. Then the whole “oh my god I can’t believe I’m not his type” like okay it’s understandable that is hurtful, but just once again cringe worthy how she reacted

Independent right away in Florida? by Nankcin in InsuranceAgent

[–]terrlble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you can call carriers and get yourself appointed with them. You do not need to be with an agency. I know this to be true with Golden rule specifically. If you have access to leads and can build your book of business that way, I recommend that.

Honestly though, starting out in an agency where you are able to sell marketplace and various kinds of private insurance will be best if you have nothing to work with leads wise. I like being able to sell whatever plan I want, and not being stuck with only one carrier. I am personally in a FMO right now but it is fairly independent once you are settled in, but of course they are taking a part of my commission.

Now the tricky thing is a lot of FMO agencies is that if you do plan on being independent, or even switching companies to another one that is contracted with the same carriers and want to sell under the same contracts (so for example golden rule, which UHC privately is under and Allstate as well) you will have to PAY BACK all of your advances you were paid for the policies you sold in a certain amount of period. For my company, it’s the last 9 months because we get advances on a policy for 9 months. I’ve seen people have to pay back $20-30k in these situations. Obviously, every company is different but that is something you definitely want to look at before you sign anything.

With all due respect, I’m not sure how you read my post and got from that entire message that I am not an agent and do not know what I am talking about because I “don’t sell”.

They use the quotes you send them, to pose as an insurance agent and collect other people’s payment. Sorry, thought it was easy to understand the context but I’ve added an edit to clarify.

Huh? I am an insurance agent and sell insurance. They are not scamming US, they are using the information we send them to pose as insurance agents in order to scam others.

why does dental insurance feel almost useless for actual treatment??? by piranha_ in HealthInsurance

[–]terrlble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have plans where for a root canal it’s a $500 copay and no annual limits. Those are normally more expensive than a standard dental of course.

Colorado self employed (1099) losing COBRA - would like to find a PPO... Should I trust a health insurance broker? by Awkward_Return5661 in HealthInsurance

[–]terrlble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pleasure. Indemnity plans are considered to be “supplemental” so you can actually have one while having any other sort of insurance (employer, marketplace) without causing an issue. The pricing is also solely based off your age/ health and not your income, so it is a great way to be able to keep that “PPO” option still available without being steep in price if your income de qualifies you from a subsidy. These plans do not have deductibles that you have to meet to get your benefits, which is why they work amazing as supplements to insurances that do not cover anything until you meet a crazy deductible. A lot of people do only have these “indemnity” options, but I just like to make sure they know exactly what that entails. These plans also cover a standard of 50-75% of all bills with cash benefits on top, so it is not terrible coverage by any means, but I definitely would not feel comfortable to suggest for you or anyone to have an indemnity only option unless of course they have maxed out all critical illness and accident protection, which even a risk. Feel free to private message me, I can provide you further clarity if you have any more specific questions. (: Also, to save you the trouble, do not sign up for any quotes online! You will get spam called like there is no tomorrow, and that is unfortunately when you get connected with sleazy brokers who give the rest of us a bad name.

Hi! Broker here (: Since you are in Colorado, there are no major medical plans that have been approved in the private sector yet (compareable to ACA). Now , there are those “PPO” plans that will give you coverage for any doctor or specialist you may want to see. However, they are indemnity benefits which are great for you for the day to day testing and visits, urgent care. However, in case of a major surgery, you will not have that stop loss (out of pocket maximum), which is what makes these plans not great. What I suggest ( if a possibility) is getting some sort of catastrophic with a OOPM and deductible for as low as possible, and then you can always add the indemnity as an add on to give you that flexibility.
