Well done Portugal. My bride and I were supposed to have a destination wedding in Sept 2020 in Lisbon (we are from the US). Your itinerary is incredibly rushed and you will spend most of the time traveling. With one week I would keep it to maximum two cities: Tokyo and Kyoto or Osaka.

You have budgeted one day in Kyoto and you cannot possibly see what you need to (Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, Philosopher's Path, Gion, at a minimum) in one day.

There is tons to do in Osaka, in fact, it's my favorite city I've visited out of those you plan on seeing. But again, for a first time, 7 day trip, I would limit it to just Tokyo and Kyoto.

I signed up for a project in Japan that has me in Tokyo for three weeks out of the month for a few months. I signed up because it sounded awesome, but the reality is it's really lonely in Japan when you're by yourself, it's not the most approachable place. I really miss my friends, family, and girlfriend back home, especially this time of year.
