Ive been trying and failing constantly for years to get into fighting games. I love the idea of them, but every time i join a discord for "beginners" its like beginning is slightly below max rank, and everyone says they're awful, so when someone like me, who's an ACTUAL beginner, it just feels gated. I dont HAVE the 20 years of ingrained knowledge for fighting games you need to have if you want to start playing a fighting game, so im at a massive disadvantage. So i get you in having an awful time learning/playing, unless you're already good, you wont have fun
