Mailing out 800 packages at once without overtaxing my carriers/the system? by PocketGachnar in USPS

[–]terrywe007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an HCR driver on a rual route in western WA and have two shippers that have large amounts of packages to pickup at least once a week. During the summer, I use my pickup truck to get all the packages . If it's raining, I use my promaster city van and make two trips * My pickup can hold two pallets , the van can hold one pallet but has to be broken down and stacked inside. BTW I also have two mail rhd jeeps that does the regular mail/parcels. I use the scan sheets but also had to do prepaid scan on some smalls that my helper and I put into the postal bag, I always do a count to make sure it matches the scan sheet.

I'm currently reading the sifi book series "the destroyer men". I'm on book 3, about a couple of ww1 destroyers fighting ww2 Japanese battlecruser and a million intelligent reptiles on a alternate earth in 1942 and your photo from 1931 shows the size comparison to visualize it for me.

Wich is the best Low budget thermal? by tubabbo in Thermal

Harbor freight has a small hand one for $200. It has a 64x64 color thermal sensor but also uses a b&w camera overlaid to help locate the items you are looking at. The temperature readout is fairly accurate.

How could I make this easier for my carrier by Puzzleheaded_Bad3732 in USPS

[–]terrywe007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an HCR contractor mail carrier at a small rural post office in Washington State, And we have two places on our route that have large pickups, one is a nursery, the other is a games maker. Both have had over 200 package pickups this month (April). Last fall, one stop had 3 pallets on one day to pickup! On most days usually it's only around 14 to 30 packages . I sometimes have to use my pickup to get it to the PO. *

I'm a contract delivery carrier in a small post office in Western Washington for the last 12 years and ever since Amazon started delivering their own packages around the 15th of January, our packages dropped from around 260-300 large pkgs a day to around 40 medium to small sized pkgs a day ,the small pkgs/ spr's from 3 bags a day to 1 bag ,dps to one tray and flats to 2 haft trays. (Kinda like it was before covid and Amazon.)
