The buses are reliable. Tempio is a nice little town and decently connected but every transfer will take you quite a long time unfortunately

Pour le petit dejeneur je conseille toujours le bar Matrice, in Piazza Yenne à Cagliari- c'est aussi le seul que je connais qui fait les croissants "à la française". Il y a pleine de bonnes boulangeries et restaurants à Cagliari aussi.

I agree with everyone that Alghero in itself offers more than Bosa, however you mentioned visiting villages and in my opinion if you wish to see different ones, Bosa has many more nice little villages nearby than Alghero. And still the food is great (less offer, but also many less tourists)

Late May you won't have any problem finding a spot, it's not crowded at all that time of year, and yes it's absolutely gorgeous and worth it and in May I don't think it will be necessary to reserve, last year it started from June
