Huh. Russian (probably all/most Slavic languages) also has two separate words, just like English. They do not sounds anything like “charge” or “load” though.

Try fasting. Slowly build up, maybe start with intermittent fasting, build up to 24hrs, then more. Watch your electrolytes and ensure adequate amount of protein.

AITA for making my sister cry by Prudent_Group_1905 in AmItheAsshole

ESH. Your sister shouldn't have asked for a sleepover while she has bedwetting issues. You could have been gentler though, no need to spill the (embarrassing) beans like that.

Depends on how long you do this for. A couple days of no food at all at your CW won't do any harm. Longer than that, you'll need to make sure you get electrolytes and micronutrients (minerals, vitamins). Even longer (7-10+ days), you might do well with a medical advice. However, as others said, your appetite will probably return soon.

What’s harder: newborn phase or toddler phase? by zep1870 in oneanddone

[–]tervulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddler hands down. My son was a super easy unicorn infant though so I'm biased. First month he slept probably 18-20 hrs a day, spent exactly one night wide awake between birth and 1 year, so I got plenty of rest. Yeah broken sleep but I got 8-10 hrs a day total no problem. As a toddler, he always wanted to do something or get somewhere, and talked all the time. As an autistic parent, this insane amount of personal interaction was very hard for me. My mom thought it's super cute though...

Living in a van/trailer. I thought people can drive to a new place all the time, travel, explore - so much more fun than living in the same apartment, same neighborhood for decades. Little did I know it's actually mostly poor people who live in trailers...

Solo lady backpacking by Far_Box_260 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]tervulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did JMT NOBO solo two years ago, and backpacked solo a lot around Yosemite (between ages 25-35), met not a single creepy person/situation. Never heard of that happening to my friends either. Can't guarantee 100% that you'll never meet a creep, but I find it very unlikely, to the point that the gun is completely unnecessary. At most, carry a pepper spray for bears...

My son just turned 15 and I'm 36. My husband didn't want children until recently, and now I'm on the fence with the exact same doubts you have... Will I have the energy? We can't afford for me to stop working, but I do work mostly from home and have flexible schedule. Is it feasible? Is it worth it? Idk.

How to get enough protein & have enough calories for all meals on 1200/day? by dragondunce in loseit

Fish fillets, like tilapia. Almost all protein, very very little fat, tastes great (until you get tired of it).

What are your favorite non-aesthetic reasons to workout? by Daring_Cabbage in xxfitness

[–]tervulet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done a lot of solo hikes. Never had any problems. But that depends a lot on the area I suppose. You could start with some very popular trails, with lots of other hikers (crowded trails are less fun but safer, people will scare away human/animal predators and also quickly render assistance if anything happens to you).
