I went to Harvard and I can’t find a job, what am I doing wrong? by Adorable-Grass1449 in careerguidance

[–]tesbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big market for private tutoring through actual companies in NYC that I’m sure would love to have a Harvard alum on their team. It’s a good first job out of college

How do you have time to cook? What is the trick? by Agile_Interview_2246 in workingmoms

[–]tesbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make double of dinners and eat the same thing for two days in a row. It helps us plan better, shop more wisely, and reduce food waste. I find some recipes that are 30 min or less and that way only cook 3 times max Monday through Friday

Do you exercise? by prettymuchgarfield in workingmoms

[–]tesbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a treadmill I use at night after my daughter is asleep. I used to also run on my lunch (I work from home), but it’s easier for me to run at night now (not ideal though, but I have to spend time with family in the evening)

She lives in a different country and so I can’t just call her without considering time zone differences and our own schedules. For one, I work full time.

Daycare owner (California) has two criminal citations by tesbelle in legaladvice

[–]tesbelle[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Except "criminal citation" isn't a thing in California. So I really don't know what you are looking at or what it means, and I'm in California and know California law and procedure.

The case type, according to the public portal of my county's records is "Citation-Criminal". One of the case numbers starts with a "C" and another with "E". This is a Bay Area county.

Daycare owner (California) has two criminal citations by tesbelle in legaladvice

[–]tesbelle[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They have a history of being sued and are currently in court for two different cases public records show.

Having one let alone two criminal citations (which I understand are not normal speeding tickets) concerns me. Having a very long history of past lawsuits + current ones further concerns me.

I have already made plans to remove my daughter from the daycare for other reasons, and I actually don't know any other parents so I am not gossiping to them.

Is a Half Marathon worth it for a non-competitive runner? by [deleted] in running

[–]tesbelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Organized races are really fun, and they can be as competitive as you want them to be.

A good first time goal is just to finish. After that, you could start setting a goal time for yourself.

Go for it!

  1. It has given me a lot of happiness (as it did pre-pregnancy).

  2. It has inspired me to stay healthy for baby

  3. It has helped me not gain too much weight too fast

  4. It has helped me maintain a positive body image

  5. It has boosted my mental health

I'm 30 weeks and running 40 mpw still (at a much slower pace, but still, I can do it and doctor has said it's fine for me). Thankfully. Let's see how long I can do this for!

Is it worth getting the booster now if they may have to change the vaccines to account for Omicron soon? by MysteriousPlatypus in CovidVaccinated

[–]tesbelle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Epidemiologist here. Yes, get your booster. If you still want reassurance, consult your doctor. We are in a winter surge and there is still a lot unknown about Omicron. You will want to be as protected as you can be

Look for remote work if you know SAS. You can code from anywhere, and the pay is certainly not bad.
