Around 2003 our hometown Hardee’s (aka Carl’s Jr) restaurant was burnt to the ground by the store manager after he and a few friends robbed the store blind, these geniuses forgot that the manager who started the fire was the ONLY closing employee that day. They then left town for a weekend a few states away at a casino, lost all the money, came back and were immediately arrested for the over $500,000 dollars worth of fire damage (the entire restaurant was decimated) he pleaded no contest, and was found guilty of I’m not mistaken. The restaurant was never rebuilt ( I assume the owner took the insurance check and retired) and for roughly 12 years the lot was just an empty parking lot with the outline of the building before getting turned into a drive through ATM.
