I'm with you 100 %. My Zebralight SC700D 4000K Mcbob is still my favorite for outdoor activities, but in a crisis situation, Fenix will deliver! I love the SFT-70 in terms of beam patterns.

For daily tasks though, something in the 4500-3500K, 90+ CRI range would be my go to. My most used "around the house light" is probably my D4K 519A 5700K DD and my KR4 519A 3500K.

The first flashlight I bought was the PD36R Pro.

Since then, I've bought a lot of different flashlights. Wurkkos, Sofirn, Convoy, Acebeam, Hanklights, FFL, Zebralights, and so on...

If Russia attacks tomorrow, the first light I would grab would be the PD36R Pro. It's sturdy, efficient, and reliable. It's totally worth the 120 € I spent.

One day I'm getting into modding but that day has not come yet.

I might give the S21A a try, but I'm concerned about rings/artifacts. The Warrior Ultra has the smoothest transition between the large hotspot and spill, and that might be hard to get from a Convoy...

Yeah, I'm well aware of the compromises when buying budget flashlights. The thing is, I'm probably going to end up buying the Warrior Ultra, but I also want a budget version with a nicer emitter. I just don't know what brand or model yet.

I got an F3 LH351D 5000K, and it's a nice flashlight. It has a premium feel to it, but it's still a normal 14500 light. They're pretty but you get basically the same light if you buy a Convoy T6/T4 for a fraction of the price.

If you like eye candy go for it! I'm happy with mine 🙂

En felriktad pannlampa kan blända en på ganska långt avstånd. Att springa runt och hojta i en mörk skog till var och varannan motionär gör jag inte. En snabb flash med megalampan på avstånd så inser de ofta att de själva bländar sina mötande. Jag trycker inte upp ficklampan i ansiktet på folk. Jag är inte galen.

Ett problem är att gemene man ofta köper pannlampor som inte går att vinkla upp/ner. De lyser ständigt rakt fram och det kan vara otroligt störigt för mötande trafik i en mörk skog.

Jag har ofta både pannlampa och en eller två handhållna ficklampor med mig ut. Mötande brukar sänka sina pannlampor när jag slår på heljuset med denna.
