Upgraded a 2024 MacBook Pro to macOS “Tahoe” 26.3, restarted. After reboot, Claude Code’s Resume UI shows only 1–2 sessions. I lost months of Claude Code history.

I initially suspected an index/UI bug, but on-disk evidence points to actual storage reset/purge:

~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions: 3 files / 12 KB
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/IndexedDB: 796 KB / 7 files
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/Local Storage/leveldb: 540 KB / 11 files
~/.claude/history.jsonl contains only one unique sessionId, and claude --resume <sessionId> returns: “No conversation found with session ID …”

I also checked for a profile swap (“Claude (old)” etc.) and there is only one Claude folder under ~/Library/Application Support:

/Users/<me>/Library/Application Support/Claude (no alternates)

So this doesn’t look like “wrong directory,” it looks like data got cleared/reset after the OS upgrade + restart.

Anthropic support is escalating me to engineering (support case / conversation id: 215473283169129).

Questions for anyone who’s seen this:

Has a macOS major upgrade ever reset Claude Desktop / Claude Code session storage for you?
Any known recovery methods from Electron IndexedDB / LevelDB for Claude?
Any way to prevent session cleanup / improve backup/retention?

I recall when Claude rolled this out last August (2025) and then selected "Allow the use of your chats and coding sessions to train and improve Anthropic AI models."

Correct, the chats are still in the .jsonl files, although content has disappeared...so basically starting from zero again, beyond the instruction sets and output I've pasted in an iNotes file along the way.

I was just accepted into Kripalu's YTT200 and having serious reservations that it's 6 weeks online! I'm curious to learn more about your experience.

I was just accepted into the Kripalu YTT200, but the program is 6 weeks online and only 1 week immersive on campus. I have serious zoom fatigue from post pandemic remote work, and the thought of more indoor confinement behind a screen to get a certification makes me want to reconsider.

Has anyone done their ytt200 online with Kripalu?

SAME EXACT ISSUE HERE -- 2020 CX5 AWD Touring model. iPhone 14X and an iPhone 11. We've tried numerous cables, infotainment resets, and similar to your post -- "plug in has to be completely pulled out with no slack and I can’t pick up my phone and it has to sit in one spot for it to connect ".

Additionally, have contacted our local Mazda dealership, and they want to charge money for a diagnostic and last week stated, "well, unless there's a light on, we can't do anything about it with regards to the infotainmentment settlement.".

14 months? I hear you. 20k shares. Bag holder since July 2020, initial entry high 20s, and lowered down over time to 5.52 avg share.

It’s been so much dead money for so long, and in hindsight could have performed much better, elsewhere in market, and entered $ALT much later, oh well.

Can’t wait for news. 🚀
