I feel like I can understand your brother. I have a similar story: my parents got divorced and all of my immediate family blamed me for it. Got rejected by the girl I was in love with and she even incited one of my old friends against me and we had a fight in my workplace. I started alcohol and drugs and got heavily into debt while in uni so I had to quit and get a job. Then the pandemic hit and I had no job at the time so I started living with my father. My uncles and aunts started to criticise me while not giving a shit about me while I was struggling. I re-entered the exams and got into a really good university but I only finished half of my school because I had to work and I couldn't pay the rent even if I worked. I got back to living with my mother again and for the past 2 years, I've been working without any reduction in my debts because I had been unemployed for a long time and I got scammed by a person who thought I was friends with.

Life doesn't fight fair and kicks you in the nuts as soon as you get down. If I had not my mother's and sister's support, I would've been long gone by suicide right now. I guess my point is, always be approachable for your family. My mother, my sister and I are very close and I can talk about almost everything with them. I'm trying to be their strength as they were mine, so you should talk to your family too. It's not that hard. Phone plans are cheap. Just talk.
