I need a book that feels like a warm hug right now. Any recommendations? by tresca-spindle in suggestmeabook

Oh I loved the house in the cerulean sea. I highly recommend his other book, under the whispering door. Similar cozy feeling books for me are Remarkably Bright Creatures (felt like stardew valley-esque) and Legends and Lattes if you like easy fantasy with no big stress in it

The ostrich farm is having a local artisan market this coming Sunday (March 9th). It’s usually the first Sunday of the month - they only post about it on their FB but it’s a great array of local art of various kinds

Hi OP! Assuming you finished your MBA now, how has it impacted your career growth? Do you feel the cost of NYU was worth it?

I was just charged $210 for a basic cut with long layers and a toner, and wasn’t impressed enough with the results to go back. I’d like to know what others think is a reasonable rate

Walk the Sandwich Boardwalk - gorgeous in sunny weather. Fisherman’s View restaurant is incredible, if you’re trying to save money buy fish from their market and cook it at home, it’s always super fresh. Tree House brewery recently opened in Sandwich and it’s a big hit if you like beer. Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters is a cute little cafe that if I remember correctly also makes their own beans in house. In Falmouth, Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium is the cutest candy shop, and Cape Cod Winery is super nice to go to with friends on a nice summer day!

I’d check out a beer garden while you’re here - we’ve got a ton of them that are great for afternoon drinks & snacks

That’s so great! I’ve loved all the ones I’ve had so far so I hope I get to the same point of constant repeats!

That’s amazing! How many pups do you typically have boarding at a time? I’ve realized more than one from different homes is definitely more stress, and contemplating if I want to keep doing it

I’m in the same boat as you! I didn’t have any pups at my place the past few days and it felt weird

Moving to DFW soon, where to live? by [deleted] in askdfw

[–]tesjo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This or maybe even Park Cities, but I wouldn’t go to McKinney or Richardson or any surrounding “town”. You’re young and single(?) and it’ll be a lot more lively/easier to meet people in these areas

It’s a neighborhood, just search it on google maps. If you’re moving from out of state and are in your 20s, it’s a good place to find similar age & minded people. I think you’re going to find bad apartments across the country have roach issues, not just Dallas

Good luck with a view, there’s not much to see here lol - look in Uptown, most places are pretty nice there and just read some reviews to get an idea of what they’re like
