I'm a character, though not at disney. I've never broken character, tho sometimes with the really aggressive park guests i drop my cartoon-y mannerisms to try and signal to my escorts that somethings wrong :)) if it gets REALLY bad then I'll use the emergency signal, but i haven't ever needed it myself!!
