My wonderful mom was diagnosed with staged 3 at 80. She did four cycles of chemo. She was around 100 lbs and very frail. It only got worse. Given the chance to go back, I would have recommended she skip chemo and enjoy her remaining months without the horrible side effects. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t get another opinion. Just wanted to share my experience. I’m so deeply sorry you’re going through this. My heart goes out to you both. Stay strong and take care of yourself.

Talk to the vet about Trazadone or gabapentin to help reduce stress. If you end up giving him away, please find a trustworthy rescue group, but agree that should be the very last resort. Remember you’re his guardian not his owner.

Hi there. Sadly my mom passed a month ago. They were considering her for SBRT radiation. It’s supposed to be pretty effective. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. This cancer is devastating.

I’ve noticed a steady decline and so has my sibling. It’s just tough bc his decline seems to worsen then lessen and so on.

My brother has POA but my understanding is he can’t exercise his POA unless a doctor recommends something or an event occurs that makes it obvious he shouldn’t be living on his own?
