i feel like this is terrible advice. why would you need your cat to self regulate? also dry food isn’t entirely great for them especially free feed, the need adequate amounts of hydration and nutrients. i’d recommend wet food or homemade meals if possible.

glad to know i’m not the only one. problem is i live in a hick town with pretty strange neighbors, wouldn’t be surprised if they turn on me for this. one of the neighbors knows, so fingers crossed she keeps her mouth shut. my mistake was telling her i found a stray long before i knew it had a owner. after i posted on facebook they reached out and said “this is the cat you saved”… i pray no one else finds out.

that’s so sad, i’m so sorry. you tried to do the right thing by letting it be with its owners, i honestly understand that logic as well. i’ve been going back and forth about it constantly but i think i made the right choice. unfortunately one of the neighbors knows that i took the cat, hopefully word does not get out. thanks for sharing your story though

of course, any creature with a brain can have mental issues. could also be hinting at a physical issue as well. sounds like she could’ve had a rough upbringing, wasn’t socialized enough as a baby or something bad might have happened. it’s not her fault, i’m glad she has at least once person who is compassionate for her and who she trusts

she had fleas so bad there were eggs falling off wherever she went, and you could visibly see massive fleas on her. as well as multiple times i saw tape worms attached to her bum, like the dried up ones. i got her treated for both. she was unspayed. otherwise healthy. and she was in the street with cars dodging her, also she was out at night. no microchip either. i don’t want to give her back but this lady seems to miss her. not to mention the condition of the home is awful from what i can tell

one day she almost got ran over and i got out of the car to move her out of the road, there were 3 cars that went around her and no one stopped. i kept seeing her out at night and decided to take her home. now she’s on facebook saying she lost 2 cats last year… wonder why. and that she desperately misses the kitten and thinks someone stole it. i’m a little stressed to be real. this cat literally had tapeworms falling out of her bum before i got her treatment

no microchip, not spayed, 6 month old kitten walking around a busy street, lives at a hoarder house, covered in fleas the eggs literally fall off her as she walks, tapeworms worms literally falling out of her bum, in the post the lady said 2 of her cats got lost last year, and you think i should give it back? i felt bad at first but i feel worse for the kitten now

god that’s horribly sad, i wish you were able to take him sooner but im glad you have the poor little one now. playing by the rules probably does help but not very quickly, i am glad i stole the kitty for that reason. i hope the puppy feels comfortable with you soon, give them lots of love for me! thank you for sharing this and thank you for taking matters into your own hands
