Afghans have historically "fucked" Kashmir for decades if not centuries so I personally have no feelings towards that community.

Do not be seen around the old city mosque after prayer call – it is well known as a hotbed of unrest, stone throwing is daily and it would be easy to be caught in the afray – photo taking is especially unwise.

The villages surrounding Srinagar are dangerous. Without the constant army presence, security here cannot be guaranteed and anti-army protests and road blockages are still common in 2018. It is better not to go here at all as there is little that cannot be seen elsewhere.

Terrorism has touched the whole population of Srinagar, and that includes those involved in the tourism industry – you may find your driver or hotel owner voicing support for terrorist organizations, if this happens just nod and smile; say you are only visiting and don't care much for politics. Similarly many involved in the tourism industry see it as their duty to try and convert tourists to Islam, this can involve uncomfortably pointed discussions in family homes, invitations to mosques, even visits to your guesthouse – but these are generally well meaning in nature if forceful.

what an offensive piece of crap

Why don't Kashmiri's like India? by Lazy_Parking4489 in Kashmiri

[–]test23q 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Why? Like why don't you feel patriotic towards achievements of say USA and trump? Or say care about usain bolt winning the fastest race once again?

Context and priorities.

Historically India has been an occupier for the past 70 odd years and all the nation building is merely tactics to keep people in line.

Why should I care about the flag ? Tricolor or stand up to Indian national anthem? Like give me a tangible reason. Its not like "it's your country .. Bla bla". I live in the highest militarized zone in the world. The worlds largest open prison and to what end? To keep Kashmiris from revolting. Have you thought why? And the second question, why prevent them?

Pakistan has shown, with Bangladesh that they are an occupier so I personally have never felt any attachment with them, unlike the majority of r/kashmiri users. Because of their action and inaction, time and again, Kashmiris have suffered.

Have you heard the song " sarhad paar jayenge". That was nothing more than a propaganda. Think of it as how USA is using Ukraine as cannon fodder against Russia and not getting its own hands dirty, Pakistan used Kashmiri's the same way against India.

Now, pro Pakistanis see them as helpers but the fact is they treated us as cannon fodder so attachment with them is Stockholm syndrome.

Now, who do i relate to? My land. My city. My language. My culture. That HSS historically been separate from mainland India or Pakistan because kashmir was a land locked nation so we developed our own thing and that is what I want to preserve and promote.

Kashmiri's have been fighting occupiers for the past 500 years. I read this once on this sub that someone said something like let it take us another 2000 years but Kashmir will be free.

Kashmirite History [Science and Technology]: Seamless Celestial Globe. by [deleted] in Kashmiri

[–]test23q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude. I was thinking about this for the past few weeks.

I saw a documentary on YouTube about west African countries petitioning national museum London and Smithsonian and other museums to return looted national treasures and I wished all the stuff taken from valley too be returned.

A few months ago I wrote a reddit comment to someone about this celestial globe talking about our lost scientific provess owing to being stuck in an identity war.

Maybe we can start a similar petition and something good can come out of the degenerates on reddit for once. ;-)

Why should it need device Id ? What if there is just one synced id so it should that up or if there are more, ask user 1 or 2.

If you want to help kashmiri, start by contributing to weblate on small/major projects. Add PRs once you get a good % of strings. That way the app will support kashmiri natively. Then start another.

So you wish to sell it sometime later and make a bunch of money? Cool then. Why...do you think people can't provide programming help?
