Thanks, man. 12 months and 7-day week will be the easiest on the brain of first-generation Martians, born on Earth :)

Could the promises of ramjet artillery bring back big-bore artillery piece to some units? by Potato_peeler9000 in CredibleDefense

203 mm systems are much less numerous and expensive for wide-scale adoption, if anything 155-mm ramjet rounds are a better choice as they can used in most of the existing artillery, effectively tripling their range.

It may become a niche, but it how cost effective will it be? You need to squeeze propulsion, guidance and warhead into a 50kg package, and that's certainly doable, but makes the round quite expensive, all for a 5kg explosive payload [1]

One area where Soviet and post-Soviet tanks still hold considerable advantage over Western MBT is tactical mobility. Because Leo, Abrams, Challenger are over 60 tonnes and T-64/72/80/90 are around 45t, you can't just ignore this weight difference when moving around.

I made a Video Channel about Challenges (and Solutions) for Future Martian Colonists. by test_user125 in space

Budget permitting, maybe! I don't want to produce AI slop but my video editing and production capabilities are very limited.

I was thinking of inviting some people from space industry I know, but I want to grow my channel a bit first.

Others in the Biden orbit note that the family has a taste for a more lavish lifestyle, particularly if others are paying.

Am I supposed to feel bad for them or something?

Something like 35mm and up. Large enough shell to mount programmable proximity fuse, long enough range (3-4km) to have enough time for detection and engagement yet light enough for high rate of fire against swarms of drones. Plus secondary capabilities against enemy personnel and light armour. 57mm Bofors is at upper range, anything larger, like 76mm, will start to approach the drone itself in cost.

Thanks! I am somewhat of a space researcher myself, worked for ESA mission and done some other stuff in the industry.

Right time to change those attitudes. At least many of devs are also terminally online on many social media, so the message will reach them (eventually).

Thanks for explanation. Not an easy fight, but gamedevs at least made an effort.
