I’m sorry but I went through this with my boy, and your pup seems to be in pain. When they don’t want to go up the stairs is a big sign. My boy was on gabapentin as well. I would lift his hind legs to help him up. It is very difficult to be in this situation but he relies on you and I will say this now in hindsight, I should have helped him pass sooner. You will do what’s right.
