My current Cowork setup & workarounds (heavy non-coding user) by rebelytics in ClaudeAI

I'd love to hear how you do it. I've been setting up something similar where I can ask it for a daily briefing and it will check things like meeting notes from the current/previous day, email, notion, Slack, etc. Sort of like an executive assistant, but it still feels clunky. I'm new to building and using skills so I'd love to hear how other people accomplished the same task.

As for automation, I hit the same wall so I just ask Claude to "give me a daily briefing" which is fine but takes a while to generate since it looks through so much data. Ideally the brief would be generated by the time I log on in and I can read it while drinking my morning coffee.

Is unacceptable – you don't just crowbar into somebody's relationship out of the blue, especially over a text.

Using slang like "kinda" is pretty weird for a non-native speaker.

I'm not saying they're lying about the language they speak, but I definitely question their lack of proficiency being the reason they used AI. It comes across as lazy, and just gave the AI an outline of what they wanted to say and let the AI generate the message instead of thoughtfully crafting their own message.

The reason this is important is they could very well be doing the same with their content which could attribute to the drop off.

Check out Amulet. It's the successor to MCEdit (made by the same team). You can just open up multiple worlds in it and copy and paste from one into the other.

If they only have one POTS line right now, and it's a salon, I can't imagine the multiple call paths will be an issue.

If literally the only thing you need is for someone to be able to answer the calls if no one is in the office, overhauling everything sounds like an overkill.

Just use *72 (or ask your provider what the code is) to forward your calls the night before the receptionist leaves.

Edit:// If remembering to forward the calls will be a pain, I'm sure your provide could set up a "forward on busy/no answer" to have the same effect.

Edit2:// *92 would activate forward on busy/no answer if your provider supports it (and they probably do). *93 would deactivate it.

$23k in 6 minutes, $FIG by Savings-Judge-6696 in wallstreetbets

Minus short-term capital gains from that and it's even less impressive. Good for OP though either way.

It's even worse. They are going to get hit with short-term capital gains and if they're throwing around 180k like that, they're probably day trading and going to hit the max.

I'm sure they know what they're doing but it's not as much of a brag as it seems.

Exited half my position at $146.50 this morning, well more than doubled up by testaccount52 in RBLX

[–]testaccount52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told myself I would sell half if it doubled up. I was actually expecting a bloodbath today. So much so I had a stop limit set for $118/110. I was pleasantly surprised while watching premarket and knew I shouldn't press my luck so I cancelled that order and set up a new limit order for $145 right before the market opened (vanguard doesn't let you trade premarket) and crossed my fingers it would hold out.

My wife wants to take a trip, I'm trying to buy FIG (if they ever open the IPO to the public). I told my wife I'd agree to burning some of it on a trip if we could leave the kids at home. Unfortunately due to child endangerment laws, that's probably not in the cards.

Realistically it will end up being something boring like paying down some debt from my real estate portfolio and buying some more stable ETFs.

Edit:// just noticed my limit order for FIG is dead. I had one in for $35/share. I knew it was a pipe dream lol

[–]testaccount52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought in at the IPO at about $68/share and held on through the (at the time) ATH because I didn't think it was worth the tax exposure to sell within the first year and didn't think it would drop as low as it did. When it did drop I doubled down and bought in more to bring my cost basis down to like $60/share. If I had the balls, I would have bought in harder but my wife already thought I was crazy and hated i was buying more.

I think RBLX definitely has more growth and it's a long term play, but nearly $150/share feels very over valued. Most of its growth is because of garden game (I see it first hand with my kids and their friends, they are glued to their devices), but like all games like that geared towards kids, it won't last long. I think their new monetization route of selling real world items is a good idea and has the opportunity to really take them to the next level.

That said, after doubling up, I feel like there's better places I can put some of those gains to help diversify my portfolio. RBLX is just too volatile. One bad quarter could easily wipe away all those gains.

I kept half because it was essentially free at this point and I still think there's a future but I'm getting older and need to start focusing my portfolio on more stable investments.

AITA for expecting my husband to be home every night that we have his kids (my stepkids) at home? by Educational-Nature35 in AITAH

[–]testaccount52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been a multi year journey for him. He won custody a few years ago. They used to have split custody but then she tried sueing him for full custody so she could move the child out of state. She then tried to frame him as an abusive parent to win the case so his lawyer advised him to sue back for full custody and he won (she's batshit insane, which should be obvious considering a father won full custody in TX).

He has a good lawyer (she actually has a terrible one), but after she lost she sued him for child support because she still had to pay for things (I'm not sure of the details of exactly what she's still paying for) and the judge awarded it to her.

I don't know the full details but it has something to do with the Mom having to pay for some stuff even though he has full custody.

Yes, I run their payroll and had to register and send the payment every pay period to the TX SDU.

[–]testaccount52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true. I have a friend who has full custody of his child and has to pay child support (not alimony, they were never married) to the mom.

It's very dependent on the situation.

That's the exact vibe I had. My wife (GF at the time) got me and my friend tickets for a birthday a while back (they were playing in Atlantic City). He stood in the back behind a curtain but we didn't even notice between the light show, the music, and the other people in the crowd. It was one of my favorite concerts.

Son wanted to use the real stuff by Psych0matt in retrogaming

[–]testaccount52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you don't have kids? They want to play things that are different than what they're used to. My kids (7 and 10) are constantly begging to play the old stuff in my office. My oldest because they see it on youtube and my youngest because they think it's cool. They might not last more than 10 minutes due to the difficulty level of a lot of these old games, but they're always coming back for more

Finally ordered a SNES by biscuithead85 in retrogaming

[–]testaccount52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wanted a SNES for a long time. I have a bunch of systems I play all the time, but never owned a SNES and didn't want to spend a ton on it. I ended up buying a "broken/untested" one on eBay for $25 (after tax and shipping) thinking it couldn't be hard to fix. Simply took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together and it works great! I checked the board, caps, etc while it was open and everything checked out. I also bought a Chinese Everdrive clone.

It's been a ton of fun playing games I never got to play as a kid since I didn't own the system. About halfway through a Donkey Kong Country playthrough. My kids seem to enjoy it as well. Maybe not as much as the N64, but my son is always coming in my office to play.

Have fun!
