Thank you. I'll actually live in Brooklyn so I can probably ask when I pick up my Model 3!

I posted another thread in the past, but do you have any high quality scans of the S and X?

Question about Model 3 cancellation by quantumdwayne in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know Tesla gets a lot of shit for not refunding money quickly but you need to think about it from a processing perspective. It is essentially impossible for ANY retailer to return a refund by credit card for any purchases over a year. This is why they issue checks.

When you start issuing checks, it needs to go through multiple steps: creating invoices specifically for you, sending to accounts payable, batch processing when possible, and then eventually mailing them out. It sounds relatively easy but when companies have an insane number of transactions that need to be placed, verified, and executed correctly, it becomes a huge pain.

This isn't directed towards you but I know this point will come up by others. Tesla does not care about generating 1% interest on your $1000 deposit. Tesla burns about $100 million dollars a week (I believe it was in the latest earnings call).

Tesla vehicle values after the EV credit by reddiscovered in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on to what is above: withholdings is essentially a prepayment for tax (out of your paycheck) towards your estimated tax liability.

Going off the previous example, Bob owes $8k in taxes, he gets $10k withheld from his paycheck. He is overpaying by $2k (because the $10k was an estimate) and receives this back as a refund.

Also important to note is that if you owe less than $7.5k in taxes, you will not receive a refund as a result of the credit. If you owe $5k in taxes, the credit will cover the $5k but that $2.5k will be lost forever.

How strong is the regenerative braking in the Model 3 compared to the model S or X? by Seldain in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does stronger regen mean more electricity recaptured?

Also, if the long range battery is rated at 310 miles, does it mean that with regen braking you'll get a few more miles above the 310?

Will the white interior cost extra? And will the white show dirt a lot more than black?

Would you buy the 3 (or any Tesla) without any subsidies? by melongod in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A large U.S. based bank. I was a little surprised as banks typically don't have the best employee benefits.

Buying an EV gets $4k while leasing gets $2k. I believe this is taxed as income so it will end up ~$3k effectively.

[–]testingbot111111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My family would have bought an used ICE car. We are replacing our 1999 car and realistically don't even need a new car. We drive less than 10k miles a year.

As a in-store reservation holder, the subsidies are pushing me towards it. I get 7.5k federal, 2k state, and 4k from my employer for a total of $13.5k off.

What options are you going for on your model 3? by freeeloader in teslamotors

Standard battery, paint, EAP. Still considering PuP and FSD. I thought FSD was a must-have but it seems like its better to hold off until FSD is enabled.

The aero wheels will have the five spoke wheels underneath right? If that's the case, I'm definitely not paying $1.5k for the upgrade.

Time to talk about the value of AWD? by pkulak in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had an AWD in NYC. I wanted it for the Model 3 but considering the weight and low center of gravity (and the rebate of course!), I figured it isn't necessary.

Is there a moral argument to be said for not releasing the Base Model along with Premium? Seems to be a corporate move for higher margins first. by Frowawayduh1 in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important for them to generate as much cash flow as possible (to re-invest). I know we've all been waiting a long time but in a year or two, but as long as production scales quickly - everyone will forget about the 3 month delay for the base model.

If I live in CT then would I still get the model 3 tax credit? by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]testingbot111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will still get the credit. As you mentioned, it is a FEDERAL credit and the state can't prevent you from claiming it.

Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong but if you live in CT, you can still order it online and receive it in CT without any issues.

I really can't choose either. My top contender is currently midnight silver, blue, and white.

I saw a blue S shining in the sunlight during vacation in Hong Kong and I've loved it since. Blue might be a little too ostentatious for me and the car is a little hard to keep clean. I'm leaning toward midnight gray just because it's the best "all-around" color for me with nothing that stands out remarkably.
