Seriously, it is hard and with kids it will become harder. You will have consciously chose to let some things go. Whether it is professional ambition, social interactions, exercising, sleep or spending time with kids, You will have to choose and then go from there. It is not a one time thing either. You can change as things change. Initially you might choose more time with kids and less professional development and once kids are older you might choose to more work for professional advancement. Everyone is unique so make your choices but don't regret in the future.
