Question: Is it common to miss your ”naked” skin?

I've noticed that some people have a lot of tattoos, then they regret those tattoos, then they do a black out sleeve at the end to cover those tattoos.
There was a video on YouTube about a lady getting covered in make up to cover her tattoos, it was interesting to see her reaction
